I'll post more details in a few days; however, I did want to make note of our first impressions of The Boathouse and our latest venture to AP under the new chef's guidance.

Overall: B/B+
We had a noon reservation on 4 July which we could only get by calling the restaurant direct, but there were plenty of walk ups to be had--they simply had wanted to keep their options open for the holiday. We were seated at the boat which was very cool and had prompt service. Our selections were the chilled half lobster, the beef carpaccio, and the shrimp/artichoke/hearts of palm salad. Very good all around though the carpaccio was superb. Though pricey ($70+ which included two glasses of wine and after a military discount), we'd return at least for lunch.

New chef and updated menu = best visit in past three years. Smokey portobello bisque still superb (salt content reduced slightly for which we're glad), braised short rib quite tasty, prawn pho expertly done, and Alaskan halibut perfectly married to a carrot-ginger risotto. Service excellent. Window table always a bonus. Where once AP had seemed a shell of its former glorious self, it has rebounded and again should be highly considered as one of the top Signatures.
