I bought a big beef shoulder on sale, how can I cook it & can it be done by dinner (6 hours from now?) SHould I cut it up or cook it whole? Crock it or oven? Heeeeelppppp! I am thinking maybe cutting it up into small chunks and tossing it in the crock or making beef stew stove top? Not exactly sure on a recipe here.....lol....

I haven't cooked a beef shoulder before, but have cooked pork shoulder. I think they should cook up similar:confused3

I throw it in a crockpot, or a pot on top of the stove if I'm in a hurry. I add some spices and a small amount of liquid. Just pull it apart when it's done cooking for the shredded effect. Remove any fat or bones.

Now you have meat that can be used for shredded beef tacos, enchilladas, machaca burritos, bbq beef or phillie sandwiches, beef pot pie, stew.....

You could also add potatos, onions and carrots when cooking the meat and serve as pot roast w/ gravy.
