Quick Help Needed - Shopping outlets in Reading, PA?

I keep hearing there are shopping outlets in Reading, PA. Does anyone know where or what they are called? I've found individual stores, but a name or Web site of an entire shopping center. I saw one called the VF outlets - is that all there is? Just trying to decide if it's worth the ride out there today with the too kiddies.

It's been a long time since I've been there, but I believe it was Vanity Fair Outlets was one complex and Moss Street was a street with a lot of outlets.

Yes, I believe it is Vanity Fair Outlets you are looking at. My DM and DSIL were just there last week and found some great stuff. There are LOADS of stores... both adult and kids, clothing and household stuff. Have fun!.....P

I live about 15 minutes from the outlets. They are the Vanity Fair Outlets.... 2 buildings plus another whole building that houses Reading China & Glass and TONS of name brands. Just off 422, Penn St. and just a block or two off Penn St. If you're wondering if they are worth checking out, yes they are. They have TONS of retailers there (and a food court)...if you love outlet shopping, this is the place for you!! I think they are rather popular! Have fun and wave to me if you go by my house!!

Nope, it's I that was sleeping - these are the ones I wanted. I found the other ones using Google, but these are closer to home.

We go out to the outlets twice/year. There are two areas that have outlets. One is Vanity Fair, which sells Lee clothing, has an Osh Kosh outlet, Tommy Hilfiger, and many, many more.

The other one is maybe a mile or two from Vanity Fair. There is another Tommy Hilfiger outlet, Guess, Old Navy and quite a few more. They are scattered, though. It's not like Vanity Fair where all the buildings are together in one spot. These outlets are a few blocks apart. They are within walking distance but I'm not sure how safe the area is to walk to all of them. There was also a Levi's outlet there, but I don't know if it's still there or not. If you like Old Navy, that's a great outlet store. Very cheap.

ROC (Reading Outlet Center) closed a few years ago due to a decline in business and retailers pulling out. At the time Reading was often in the news for criminal activity, much in the neighborhoods surrounding the Moss Street outlets. The owners sold a couple years ago and so far nothing has been established there. All that's left is VF Outlet Village. You can also go to nearby Lancaster for Rockvale Square and Tanger Outlets.
