so I'm offsite and plan to go 3/28. Today at 7am here's what I was able to get:

NO ROL darn
Safari 510 [earliest time]
Kali River 1130 [didn't want to do earlier]
Dinosaur 105 [earliest time]

Now I'm wondering if I should switch Kali for EE and just plan to arrive later to the park...there are times still available for EE afternoon and FOLK in afternoon....

We are a family of 5 with teens so doing a dining plan to get ROL seating is $$$ but I'd consider...but there are no times for 5. Might be able to do a 2 and a 3....

Since we have teens and have been before [but not for 6 years] my thoughts are [in no order]:

EE
Safari
Dinosaur & Prim. Whirl.
Kali [if hot]
at least 1 trail
would like to have time to relax and explore...maybe see DIVINE
FOLK [husband loves this]
Tree of Life awakenings [haven't seen the tree light up yet as it's new to us]
ROL

it's a busy time to go ...

whenever I enter my fast passes and optimize touringplans it doesn't use ANY of my fast passes. Ha!

I had the same type of issues. I did EE for rope drop, Dino FP in AM, primeval whirl, Kali when walk by and if shortish line, trails, Lion King and I hope Flights of Wonder. Then leave for rest and dinner. We then got FP for Safari at 6:30 and for RoL so will return for that and hope to see a cycle of the tree of life light show.

I could not get TP to optimize either, but I think they may not have good info on night time waits now that ROL is open.

We love doing a break so this works for us. If we didn't do the break, I would arrive late - that is what we are doing for HS so we can see F!

Keep checking the FP window and try moving them around, making sure one isn't booked for the time you are trying to move one TO (that will prevent you from being able to schedule). As for EE, with teens, they will want to ride, so I would FP that unless you are there for RD (non EMH day, since you are off site). The lines are so short at RD that single rider doesn't even open right away. The wait times for EE, especially single rider line also drop much later in the day, so you could SR EE before ROL perhaps.

For such a large party, you are going to have trouble moving FP reservations around for hard to get rides. What I would try doing is switching to a morning safari by looking up by parties of 2. Often you can get reservations for smaller groups and even if not the exact same time, you can usually get a pretty good overlap. I originally separated my husband's FP with an only 15 min time overlap. Then I kept checking and was able to modify it to get a 45 minute overlap.

This is a good idea to try. Thanks.

We are staying offsite in July. I think it may be a disadvantage in some ways, although saving a bit of $. Even with 60 days out, it can be a challenge. I wonder if at 30 days out, it will be almost impossible to get the new rides and show at AK. I hope not. Anyone else have problems when booking 30 days out?
