I have such a taste for it. I don't want Chipotle because they charge too much for that little container, and I don't want to make it.

I need a good storebrand!!! Got any?

So don't tell me this has something to do with what you want for dinner! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Not after the comment on your other thread! :lmao:

:rotfl: Guacamole--or rock 'n rollie, as we call it since my 15yo used to call it that when he was little--is serious for sure (not sure about the snottiness, but I'll let you off the hook this time... ;) ). I love Chipotle guacamole, but yes it is expensive. Do you have a Baja Fresh? It's pretty good, too, and I don't think it's quite as expensive. Trader Joes makes guac that a lot of people like, but I have never found a store bought that I like nearly as much as restaurant or homemade. How about making your own? It's so easy to make--the hardest part is either finding avocados that are ripe or waiting for them to ripen (and not get too ripe).

Another vote for trader joes. The number kind. :goodvibes

I am *so* jealous of all of you that have Trader Joe's where you live!

I want a Trader Joe's! I want a Trader Joe's RIGHT NOW!!!!!
(Stamps off to corner to pout)

ETA: and some guacamole would be really good right about now, too.

OT- what is Trader Joe's? I seem to hear differant things about it, some say it is a specialty place like Wegeman's, others make it sound like a fancy Starbucks.

Me too.

Come on Joe, I know you could kick Whole Foods butt.

I LOVE Chipotle! But I have yet to find a good pre-made quacamole from the store. Besides, you can't beat the fresh stuff.

This is the best!
2 Avacados
a little copped onion
1/4 cup choped cilantro
3 tbls sour cream
juice of 1/2 lime
onion salt & corse salt to taste

Serve with Tostito's "Hint of Lime" Chips

I was going to suggest making your own as well.

If you don't want to do that, I recently saw an article that rated all the pre-made guacamoles, and the one from Costco won by a landslide.

IMHO, there isn't a good store brand! Nothing like fresh made Guac.

I was going to suggest costco since you don't have a trader joes. They seem to have very simlar things.

Trader Joes is a specaility store that sells boxed and frozen foods, dairy and some produce and fresh meats. (oh and wine and beer.) They sell many the sand brands as whole foods, but always much cheaper. Good prices, good food. They moslty have their own brand food and it is always very good. I love trader joes (and there is one super close to my house, walking distance. :goodvibes )

You can come see me and we'll go to Trader Joes and I'll go see you and we'll go to Wegmans (even though it's still quite a drive, isn't it?). I know that a Wegman's opened up NW of Baltimore and I am going to hop in the van one day with my 15yo and we're going to buy the store out. :teeth:

Geez, don't get PhD started about Trader Joes! She'll never get off the DIS to feed her girls dinner, put them to bed, see her DH... She is obsessed! ;) :rotfl:

Hey, I have always wondered about that Costco one. It's such a big stinking amount and if you don't like it....well, you are screwed. (uh oh, can I say that? Guess we'll see.)

Anyway, sorry Vivi, but I am with the make your own crowd.....I don't get as fancy as the PP though, just mash up the avocado, put in a little lime juice, add some chopped tomato and a little salt and onion. Sometimes I even skip the onion.

I also add some minced garlic (the shaker kind from my spice rack--I bet the fresh stuff would be good, but I'm lazy). I have added chopped onion (or copped onion, as jbdreamer adds ;) --hate those typos :teeth: ) , but I don't because my kids don't like them, and I add cayenne pepper and black pepper. Usually use lemon juice since that's what I always have on hand.
