Quick - Give me Circus Character Ideas!

My daughter's school fun night is tonight. She has been off school all week and just back today, and came home saying 'we are suppossed to dress up as a circus character'. EEK - thanks for the notice honey! I now have 2.5 hrs to whip something together and she does NOT want to be a clown - said too many kids will be a clown.
So all you creative people out there! Help! (went through old Halloween costumes but she was always a disney princess - we do have a nice red cape from a red riding hood costume though and some other dress up stuff, but nothing circus-y).

What about a tightrope walker with an umbrella? Does she have a leotard or something she could wear? Maybe a tu-tu? Put her hair in a bun?
