Anyone able to confirm if the Disney Gift Cards that come with the special offer package are already "loaded" when you get them? I just assumed without asking that we would collect ours at check in so was surprised that they posted it to me with my documents.

Makes no difference either way, but just wondered if I have to do anything when I get there then? I assume if it's sent to me that the $$ are already on there, but would rather be sure as this one is a gift for DD so I'd rather have as little discussion about it at check in as possible

I might be wrong, Lee, but I'm sure I've read elsewhere that you have to activate the gift card online if it's been sent from WDTC UK. It might mention it on the back of the card? And I'm sure it's done via Disney Gift Card. Sure someone will be along who can confirm :goodvibes

Thanks, that's what I wondered

I just rang WDTC UK reservations and the CM I spoke to said it's good to go - all loaded and ready and no need for online activation or anything to be done at check in. I guess I have internet access there if need be, but don't want to be messing around on our first day sorting stuff we should have done before we left. I hope the lady I spoke to was right!

Thanks for that question as I am using the card before I actually checkin to that hotdl:thumbsup2

I've just double checked the 'voucher' it's attached to and there are no instructions to do anything. The back of the card however says it needs to be 'loaded or activated'

I will use Scottish Girl's link and see if I can find any more info. Nobody reading this who's been and used one this year? :confused3

Interested in the answer too as we are cruising before checking in at SSR so would like to use our two gift cards onboard :)

:goodvibes

All these folk who have just been and the only ones posting here are those of us who don't have the answer :rotfl2: Come ON people! Where are you sun-tanned folk back from Florida who can shed some (sun)light on the matter? :rotfl:

Lee did you book with WDTC UK ? and so get the giftcard with your paperwork or does everyone ? I book with VH so thought I have to pickup our card at MCO

I did book through WDTC and I just assumed (based on nothing really) that we would get it on check in. I thought since it was part of the package discounts/benefits it would all be sorted just the way the add other things to your room account when you check in. So I was unprepared to see it in the pack :lmao:

When did you get your Mickey Mail? I see you're going a few days later than me, but I still haven't got my Mickey Mail :( Good to know the gift card will be in the package though, I'd assumed we would get it at check in as well.

It came on Saturday. I hadn't even thought about it and was waiting for something else in the mail (which I missed and had to collect from the sorting office at some stupid hour this morning before work :rolleyes1) so the whole thing was unexpected. I think it's a little earlier this year than it arrived last year. Usually with non flight inclusive bookings they seem to arrive about 3 weeks ahead, give or take. They do definitely send their mail out in batches a couple of times a week, rather than on a daily basis so I guess if yours is due for dispatch and just misses one, it would add a few days to the wait.

Checked mine online at home when I received it. Just input card no and 8 digit PIN and it will tell you the balance on the card and the date activated. Going on Sun so if I have any probs with it I will let you know. Seems good to go though.

Thanks so much. That would be great :)

Hope I remember to remind you before we leave :rotfl:

Oh okay, mine is flight inclusive though, so don't know if that makes a difference.

I had a search over on The Dibb for you as that's where I read it. There's a thread here - http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=614876&highlight=Gift+card+activate - and it basically says to check your balance on the Disney Gift Card website and it should tell you the balance and that it's activated ;) I can't seem to find much more over there but maybe that's because I'm on my phone.

It must be the joys of DISing by phone .... I have been back to this thread a few times already this evening and this is the first time that your post above has shown up :rolleyes1

Thank you so much for that. I didn't have any joy with the online checking of the card as you need to enter a the capcha code, which should be okay except that they aren't coming up; not even the visually impaired audio :rotfl2:

I shall try again tomorrow but thank you for going to the trouble to look :goodvibes

We had the $300 flight inclusive gift card deal this Feb. It arrived separately from the rest of our documents and was ready to use when we arrived (I'd assumed we'd get it at check in so to get it before we left surprised me). You can use it in Disney Stores outside of WDW, notably the two Outlet stores and the airport store. We also used it at the Florida Mall where they had a buy one get one free on plushes, great gifts for niece and nephew. When you use it your receipt states the balance on the card so you always know how much you've got left. Spending it at the outlets was great!!
