I have only bought a handful of things on Ebay, but have always paid immediately with PayPal, and always received the item within days. And usually was contacted by email from the seller as well.

I won an auction on Monday, paid immediately, but still haven't heard anything. I finally emailed HER two days ago to make sure she got the payment and to ask when she thought she'd get it mailed out so I could look for it, but no response. She also states that tracking is included in the cost of shipping, so I wanted to keep an eye on it.

I still haven't heard anything... I'm getting anxious because the item I won is VERY SPECIAL to me, so it's not just getting money back but I want this item!!!

How long should I wait? Am I just being anxious?

If you paid for the item on Monday, I would give it until Tuesday. That is a week. If the item is coming from the US that should be enough time.

Possibly the seller's emails are not coming to your email. I know my Hotmail sends seller emails to my Junk folder. You could always pull the sellers contact info (they'll get an email telling them you've pulled it which motivates some people rather quickly) and then call them on Monday.

Does the seller have good feedback? If so, I would give it a little time, could be the seller is sick or computer is down etc. I think a reasonable time to expect package is within 2 weeks, after that I would pursue this more aggresively.

I ordered pins and paid on 8/27 and I have still to get them and no answer to email. What now?:earsgirl:

Remember, Monday was a holiday. So the earliest she may have checked would have been Tuesday. Mail would be slower on Tuesday since there was the long weekend and presumably more mailed backed up.

I agree too, she may not be getting your emails/you may not be getting hers.

I'd give it till next Tuesday and then call her.

When I ship stuff I sell on Ebay, I usually ship within 2-3 days, but if the weather is really bad and I don't want to risk ruining a package by trekking through the rain to the post office from my office (if I'm shipping on a weekday, I have to mail from the city and walk about 10 minutes from my workplace to the post office) it can take a few extra days.

I try to email people to let them know though.

When I buy on email, i look at 2 things, feedback and whether or not they accept PayPal.

Check to see where they are coming from, get a phone number if you can, sometimes you can get the phone number from ebay or it will be on their profile somewhere. I had to do that ONCE, back when I would just bid on anything without looking at where and who first.

Once it has been 14 days I think it is, then you can file a complaint with ebay. However, I have heard that Ebay is slacking on getting involved. Might want to research that some.

Thanks for your replies! I got the package this morning, right after I originally posted, BUT, it's the wrong item!!!!!!!!!

So I requested her info and gave the number a call, but she wasn't there. So I'll try calling back later today.

Now I'm scared she shipped my item to someone else and I might not get it!

Well it has been over 3 weeks now and no pins. I paid over 9.00 in shipping charges. The seller finally answered me and said they were shipped. Then he asked me for my name and invoice, and said he'd look into it, 3 more days and I still have not heard from him. I live in a small town 1400 people, they know your name at the PO. They said things are rarely lost. What so I do now . Please has anyone else had this proplem.:earsgirl:

I think that it is time to take it up with EBAY. There is a place on there that you can complain. I am not sure though, you MIGHT have to wait 30 days to do so. ALSO if you used PayPal, they might help you as well.

edited to add.

Thank you sooooooo much for answering me. I just didn't want to be unreasonable and complain too soon. But the total was 31.11 so I was hoping things would work out. I did use Pay Pal. I emailed him this morning when I got home from the PO but as usual have heard nothing. Should I warn him first or just contact ebay and pal pal next week. I s there a time limit for me to file a complain? Do I lose my right if I wait too long to complain. I am relatively new at this but have mostly purchased pins and have received them all, even as little a one pin in a small brown envelope. Thank you again.:earsgirl:

If I remember correctly, you have to wait 14 or 15 days, but has to be within 30. If nothing else, just tell him you want your money back and since you paid through paypal, you might be able to get that back through them.

(edited) also, I wouldn't tell him, I would just do it. But that is what I would do. I suppose it is personal preference.

When I receive a payment thru PayPal, I send the item AFTER it has been withdrwn from PayPal and deposited into my account with no problems. This can take up to 4 days. I will not ship until
the transaction is completed. I learned this lesson in my "early ebay days" after being ripped off . So,my customers usually get their item within 10-12 days. My feedback is 100% positive(336) so customers should feel confident buying from me.

Just a word of warning, don't wait too long (beyond 30 days I think) if you want Paypal to help. Last year I paid over $60 to Paypal for a costume I won from someone in Canada. He kept saying it was in the mail and I waited 5 weeks. Paypal would not help. I had to go through the hassle with my credit card company
(and it was a hassle, he sent an empty package certiffied so he could have "proof" he had sent it after my credit card company credited me back. The credit card company then recharged me! I had to prove it was an empty package by scanning the postage which was only $2 something. It took over a month to get my money back!)

Because shipping does take longer to Hawaii and after this experience I do not use PayPal and do not purchase out of country. I use postal money orders now. The two things that irk me now are people who charge for insurance and don't insure the package and those that don't leave feed back when you pay, but wait until you leave feed back first.

I though feed back was supposed to be left for the type of buyer you are (pays fast etc). But some sellers use it as blackmail to insure you don't leave accurate feed back on them. I won sweaters I needed for a trip to San Francisco. I paid over $50 to have them sent priority mail so I would have them in time. They did not get here for 8 weeks! The seller had gone on vacation and did not mail them until 3 weeks after he got the money and then he sent them parcel post for about $8. He emailed me that if I left negative feedback he would do the same for me. Since it was three bids I knew it would affect my rating, so I did not leave the feedback he deserved.

Except for these two incidents, I have had good experiences on EBAY. I really appreciate that it is there. This island is isolated and Ebay has allowed me to obtain needed things that I could not otherwise get. My DIL is pregnant and there is no place on island to buy clothes. EBAY allowed me to purchase lots of things for her at very little money. So for any of you that sell on EBAY thank you. It has become my mall.:teeth:

Aloha,
Donna

Thanks for all your input. I will wait one day and then email him that I am going to contact ebay and pay pal. I did pay with credit card Disney on pay pal. Yes he also has not left any feed back for me yet. I payed immediately on August 26, and then he did email me that he would ship within 72 hours?????? I first contacted him after labor day 9/8 then 9/11, when he finally answered that they were mailed and then 9/15 again and he asked for invoice info and said he would look into it.....have not heard from since. Email today.
