Hi all! Decided to do a quick review of our dining from May 30-June 5. I took a few pics, but mainly of desserts & drinks, so I am going to paint pictures with my words. :)

Cast of characters: Me - 32 - will eat most anything. My only food dislikes are carrot cake, things that are green & boiled, and scallops. Yeah, that's pretty much it.
MM - 34 - will also eat most anything. Not a huge fan of chocolate. Weirdo.
VM - 8 - has a very adventurous appetite for an 8 year old, but sadly, was saddled to the Kid's Menu. We were nice and shared with him...most of the time.

A few details - we were on the Disney Dining Plan and we stayed at Pop Century.

I'm going to go and pretend that I'm working for a minute, and I'll come back and post day one.

Here are a few restaurants that you'll hear about: Chef Mickey's, Le Cellier, Kona, Ohana, and more!

Okay, day 1 - Saturday

We arrive at POP early to check in and grab breakfast before heading to EMH at the Animal Kingdom. This is kind of a tradition for us, I guess. (If you can call 2 years in a row a tradition.)
MM - He had the Pop Waffle Combo. This was the waffle with bacon and sausage. He said it was good. He had coffee to drink. He actually likes the Nescafe stuff. (We got our refillable mugs at this time.)
VM- Had the Kid's Mickey Waffle with bacon & sausage, a Sprite, and an Orange Juice. I usually don't let him have the sodas, but I let him go crazy on vacation and have a non-stop Sprite fest. Wooo. Oh, he thought the waffle was yummy and ate every bite of the bacon & sausage.
Me - I had the Pop Waffle with strawberries & whipped topping. I am allergic to maple syrup, so when I eat a waffle, I want it to be easily confused with a dessert. It was great. The waffle was fluffy and the toppings were gooey and sugary. Yum! After mourning the loss of the frozen Cokes (for about 2.5 seconds), I tried the "replacement". I'm a sweet tea snob, but I fell in  love with the Gold Peak tea machine. I wanted to start an IV. I'm sure that the herbal/unsweetened versions were okay, but I never strayed from the sweet tea!

Off to AK for a fun morning AND lunch at Yak & Yeti CS!

Boss is on Jury Duty, so I'll try to get as much done this afternoon as I can before I'm expected to do "actual" work.

Saturday - Lunch - Yak & Yeti CS
We tried Y&Y last year and my husband loved it. I know that it's typical Chinese food, but it's GOOD typical Chinese food. We grabbed a table around the corner, by the fountain, and chowed down. First of all, so much food! The orders for the three of us (on the DDP) could easily feed 5 people...10 if those people were supermodels.

MM - Got the Sweet & Sour Pork. The only problem he has with this meal is that he would love a big plate so that he can dump out the little to go box and mix it all up. He got the same thing last year, and he said that it was even better this year. He got Root beer to drink and a frozen Lemonade for dessert (I'm pretty sure VM ate most of the Lemonade)
VM- Chicken bites, carrot sticks, chocolate chip cookie, and a root beer. He ate every bite except for the cookie (which was consumed by his father for breakfast one day later in the week). He also ate more than half of his father's lemonade.
CM - I had Honey Chicken, Water, and Frozen Lemonade. I got the same entree last year, but it wasn't as good this time. The sauce is yummy, but the chicken was a little mushy. The rice was good, and I could eat rice for every meal. My water was, well, watery, and the lemonade was refreshing.

All in all, we had a good lunch. I'm sure we'll have to eat here again.

Next up - the LeCellier virgins hit Canada!

Le Cellier -Saturday PM

Okay, so after a nap, we headed over to Epcot for a little park time before our dinner reservation at Le Cellier at 8 p.m. It was our first time going there. We got to the World Showcase early, so we stopped in Canada for a couple of Draft Mooseheads, some popcorn, and a Coke for VM. Then, we wandered around, listened to the end of the British Invasion set and the beginning of Off Kilter's set before checking in.

We were seated almost immediately and Chantal was our server. She was AMAZING. Not only was she attentive and wonderful, she was amazed by my knowledge of Canada...okay, my knowledge of Canada begins and ends with Degrassi. But she was still impressed!

MM - He had the Mushroom Filet (medium rare) with the cream cheese mashed potatoes. He still gets teary eyed about this meal. He says it was the best meal EVER. I'm pretty sure I caught him licking the plate once. He ordered the S'mores for dessert, but gave them to VM since he couldn't order it on the kid's menu. He had Moosehead and water to drink.

VM - Got the kid's meal with soup, steak, fries, and ice cream sundae (that his dad ate). He loved the soup, which he shared with his parents (love that kid). We all dipped our pretzel bread into it. He said the steak was "okay" and didn't eat any of his fries. He did, however, consume every bit of the S'mores.

Me - I had the New York Strip (medium rare), Moosehead, and Chocolate Mousse. My steak was cooked perfectly. I ate every bite. I enjoyed the potatoes that came with it, but I passed over it for MEAT! The Chocolate Mousse was cute, but a little rich for me. (and I LOVE chocolate!)

One thing - as we were finishing up, I overheard another server explaining the menu and told them they could get the "Chef's Favorites" menu on the dining plan. Chantal didn't tell us that! However, I wasn't sad for long, when I remembered that we were coming back to LC on Friday!!!!! Yes, I got two ADR's for Le Cellier at the husband's request.

On to Sunday...

Sunday, woke up. Ate a muffin in the room (thank you, Otis Spunkmeyer) and headed to DHS for Star Wars Weekends. We left there before lunch since there was nothing we really wanted to eat there. We ended up having to head to the Wal-Mart in Kissimmee, so we just grabbed a bite while we were out. That must have angered the Mouse, because we had the worst service ever. I won't name the restaurant, but I'll just call it S.H.J. Saturdays. (We decided to use that counter service for breakfast on our way out of the hotel on Saturday.)
Sunday night - we headed to the Contemporary for Chef Mickey's! This was our first time there, and while we had a BLAST, it will be our last. (At least for dinner.) Character interaction was awesome, but the food was . VM ate a ton of cheese pizza and smiled till his cheeks were sore. We might try it for breakfast, so I wouldn't call it a complete bust.

Monday -
Grabbed another muffin and headed to Typhoon Lagoon. Lunch was Leaning Palms. I had the burger and fries, MM had the chicken sandwich and fries, VM had the hot dog and fries. I can't remember what we had for dessert. I know there was a cookie involved, but I guess that was V's.
Monday afternoon, we hung out at the hotel and I fell asleep. I had originally planned a 5:45 dinner at Y&Y since AK had EMH, but we ended up cancelling and getting Restaurant Marrakesh. So...we headed to Epcot, wandered around a bit. I got a Grand Marnier Slush in France, and MM got a Casa Beer to drink while we waited. We were called immediately and headed inside. This was our first time, and I thought the setting was great. We totally enjoyed this experience, but our service was a little less than awesome. The entertainment was great and the food was good.
MM ordered the Feast (our server told us that he could do that and pay $5.95 extra). He enjoyed it, even though he had no clue what he was eating! The soup was good, and VM took the bowl over. He enjoyed it so much that the server brought him a bowl. One thing - when I said that the service wasn't good, it wasn't our main server. She was great. Our "secondary" server (the one who was supposed to refill glasses) came around twice.
VM - ate a lot of soup. He ordered the chicken tenders and ice cream.
MM - I had the beef couscous. I really enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I had the Bastilla for dessert. It was okay, but a little soggy for my taste.

After dinner, I grabbed another GM slushie and we headed to UK for Illuminations.

Tuesday is next!

Tuesday - muffins on the way to Epcot. Lunch ADR at 12 noon at Teppan Edo. We were all pretty excited about this one. We LOVE hibachi! I thought the food was good and the show was fun. It was about on par with the Japanese places we go to here, but it was more "magical" since it was Disney. MM & I both had Steak and Shrimp, and VM had Shrimp. Our chef was awesome and funny! For dessert, I had the chocolate ginger cake, which I thought was yummy. MM had the green tea pudding. He loved it, but I did not. VM had ice cream. It was...ice creamy.

Tuesday night, we used cs credits at the food court at POP. MM and I both had Parmesean Crusted Chicken, which was surprisingly good. It came with a breadstick and a light salad. It was very good and very non-food court. I had an ice cream sundae for dessert, and MM had a crumb cake which also partially served as a breakfast later on. (I love bringing Ziploc bags!) VM had a cheese pizza and grapes.

Wednesday morning, we were headed to Blizzard Beach, so we stopped in the food court to grab some snack/breakfast. We used snack credits for yogurt/granola parfaits and grapes. That crumb cake from the night before came with us. Those parfaits are HUGE. For lunch, we had burgers and fries at Lottawatta Lodge. Nothing to write home about.

Dinner was at Kona Cafe at 6:45. Our server was efficient, but not overly attentive. VM ordered the grilled chicken with fries and an ice cream sundae for dessert. He liked it, but he did get bites of our food, which he liked better. MM had the Teriyaki New York Strip and I had the Shrimp and Scallops. Since I don't like scallops, I gave MM half and VM the other half. MM gave me part of his steak. Everything was great! The shrimp was huge and the breading was yummy. For dessert, MM had the fondue and I had the Kona Kone. We each ate bites of our dessert, then passed them around the table. I liked my Kone better than his fondue. I'm a sucker for giant waffle cones!

Thursday AM, we grabbed muffins on our way to EMH at MK. Lunch was at Pecos Bills. I had the bacon cheeseburger, MM had the barbeque sandwich, and VM had the chicken salad. The kid loves his salad. He enjoyed it, but said that it should have had more "stuff". MM liked his sandwich, but said that our BBQ at home was better. My burger was a burger. I put three tons of cheese on my fries, and I could have just eaten that.

Dinner was Ohana. This was the only ADR that I made that we had tried before. We are big Ohana fans. We got to the Tambu lounge early (we did this on Wednesday, too) because I fell in love with the Island Sunset. Yummy. MM loves the Fire Rock Pale Ale. VM had sprite. After hanging out a while, we were seated next to the fire pit. It was awesome as usual. I could fill up on Sticky Wings and the noodles. Love those noodles. The bread pudding wasn't as good as I remembered. We still enjoyed it and will be back.

Friday - another muffin out the door to DHS. Left DHS before lunch to go to AK and ride some rides. It was PACKED, so we ate lunch at Flame Tree and left. I had the chicken (yummy) and MM had the ribs (fatty and greasy). VM had a hot dog (doggy). We evaded the duck attack and enjoyed our meals. We got the key lime pie, which was meh. I don't know if we'll do this one again. We are BBQ snobs.

Friday night was our second Le Cellier ADR. We headed to Canada early for Moosehead, Off Kilter, and a little shopping. We were seated about 20 minutes after checking in. This time, I decided to do the Chef's Favorites. (or "Favourites"). I had the soup, prime rib, and Chocolate Moose (which I gave to VM). Loved every bite of my Prime Rib. Yum! MM got the same as on Sunday, but said it wasn't as good. I think it was the "expectation". VM got the steak and green beans. He said it was better this time. MM got the creme brulee and didn't care for it. I ate the ice cream sundae. We will be back to Le Cellier.

Saturday morning. Time to head home. Stopped in the POP Food Court to use our last CS. VM got the kid's breakfast plate with eggs, bacon, and sausage. MM got the big breakfast platter, and I got the breakfast pizza. They enjoyed theirs, but mine was the best. Loved it!

So, there you go. Sorry for no pictures. We ate a lot and enjoyed every minute of it.
