Yes. Imagine it as a joint bank account with cards issued for each of you. Any card may be used to access the pool of credits in your account. You can use one of the kids' cards to pay for the whole family's food if you like and it will still just deduct the credits from your allotted amount. Have fun!

Every time you use a credit tour receipt shows you how many you have left - it helps you keep track:goodvibes

If you have any queries you can also go to the hotel front desk and get them to give you a print out showing how the credits have been used.

So one of you can order all 4 meals on your card or if you split up each person can get what they want with their card.

The only limit is eg if you have 2adult and 2child on your key card you can only get the meals to match that at one time eg you couldn't buy 6 adult meals at once.

Have you actually tried it though? Has anyone?
I was under the impression you could only use credits for the amount of people in your room, I think it says something like that in the T&C's.
I went to collect our Hoop Dee Doo tickets from Concierge at OKW, we are 3 adults but collected tickets for 13(12 ad & 1 ch) of us, the CM took all the credits off my account(Took an hour and $50 appolgy to correct his mistake, mainly because 2 of the credits he used were for a child ticket, the computer wouldn't put 2 credits back to a room with no children in it even though it took the adult credits for a child)
I asked how he could do it when it shouldn't be possible, He said there is nothing in the computer system to stop credits being taken, as long as we had the credits the restaurants would use them for any amount of people.
:confused3

There is nothing on the computers to stop you but the CMs taking the orders are only supposed to let you order the number of meals on your card. There was out rage on the restaurants board when they tightened up on this -as people where ordering adult meals for the kids as the credits were all the same. It happened at the same time as the split the TS credits into adult & child tracking separately.

My friend just came back and said that at the end of her holiday they ordered 5 adult meals instead of 3adults and 2 children because of the limit on the childrens meals and she said they had no problems.

No I haven't tried to order more adult meals than on the key card - I was a girl guide and a school prefect:rotfl2:

Not an issue for us with a 4 year old, we tend to share 2 adult cs between us at lunch.

I know some people have had success asking the cm if they can get an adult meal for their child but cm's discretion.

Wonder how the automated ordering system would handle it eg peco bills if I tried to order 3 adult cs and pay with my 2a+1c KTTWC. Not that we would as there is no way we could eat 3 adult meals.

The CM more or less said to me the credits were there to use and upto me how I used them, that is why he took them all from mine thinking I was using them up for friends as I had so many.

Just had a look and its clear enough on the plan leaflet, I must have got a CM that didn't know the rules.

Q. Can I use my Disney Dining Plan to redeem meals for friends or family members who
are not included in my reservation or have not purchased a Disney dining plan?
A. Sorry, you may not use your Disney Dining Plan to redeem meals for friends or family
members who are not included in your reservation or have not purchased a Disney
dining plan.

My friend said alot of the time while she was there some CM's didn't seem to know what they could have. For 4 days her children were having something for breakfast and on the 5th day a CM said they couldn't have it but on the 6th they had it again. One counter service resturant she went to she asked if she could have something and 3 CM's discussed it and came back and sad yes. She said there seemed to be lots of mixed messages.

I agree with the mixed message thing! I hate inconsistency.

For example - for a QS credit turkey leg meal you get -
Magic Kingdom - turkey, drink, crisps, cookie
Epcot - turkey, drink, side order eg crisps or desert - not both
Animal Kingdom - turkey and drink - nothing else (and very unhelpful but that is beside the point)

Didn't try Hollywood studios!!

This is where the system comes in to override human error and inconsistency. I have a feeling that they are implementing these systems to counter what has become a problem, in addition to cutting staffing costs.

This has been an ongoing problem but it has become worse since all the staff cuts. It seems that training has taken something of a backseat, compared with what it was in the past.

Don't even bother.
