I have a DAS pass from last time I was at the park, will I automatically be issued another one when I request it or will I have to jump through all the hoops again? (My disability is not something you can see by looking at me. The first time I got the card, i brought medical documentation from my Dr. and I don't want to bring all that with me again)

Bring your old card with you.
There is a QR Code on it - it looks like a square with sort of a random black pattern. They will read the code, which is a link to your file.
They will probably ask a few questions (is this you? Has anything changed? Do you still need assistance?) and then print a new card.
Most of the time, they can use the same picture that was in your file from your last visit. Occasionally they need to retake the picture.

After printing it, they will have you review the card and sign the back.

You did not actually need the documentation the first time, just to be able to explain your disability related needs that make waiting in the regular line an issue. So, if you prefer to bring documentation, fine. But, it is not needed.

There is not a QR code on it. They were actually kinda nasty about giving it to me. The first time I went they said no, and told me I needed documentation. That's why I brought it. I have had so many different problems at Disneyland, The time I asked for a card and did not get one It was because my Service dog was hurt inside the elevator room on HM, he actually suffered a fractured leg.

My DD took her previously issued DAS card when we went to DLR last week. She presented that and was issued another DAS card. I don't believe that DLR has the QR code on the DAS cards (I will have to look when I get home). They did need to take her picture again. They did not ask any questions.

I would not take any documentation with me. You need to be able to tell Guest Relations what your needs are as they relate to you waiting in line.

I am sorry your service dog was injured while on an attraction. While I can have empathy for you and your service dog, I have a hard time how that affects your ability to wait in line. Perhaps the Guest Relations CM was having the same issue that I am having. As has been stated several times by Sue and others in this forum, you need to be able to state your needs as they relate to you waiting in line. State it simply in non medical terms.

Have a great time at the Disneyland Resort. My DD and I enjoyed all the Halloween festivities.

The Dog has nothing to do with my DAS, he is a medical alert dog. I only brought it up as it was one of the many problems I have had at Disneyland. I specifically asked if there was a way to avoid that room and was told no. Now they tell me to pick up my service dog and carry him which is a big NO NO. I just think they need to invest in a little more training.

The Disney World DAS cards have a QR code on the back side, where the Terms and Conditions and the signature line are.
All the pictures of Disleyland DAS cards I have seen have looked exactly the same as the Disney World cards, except that it says Disneyland.
So, I don't know why yours would not have the QR code. You should still take it with you - if you don't have it, you will for sure have to go through the process again. If you do have it, chances are very good all they wili reissue a new one as I mentioned earlier.

Again, I am sorry that happened to you and your Service dog. That is sad. I can see where a Service dog would have problems in that environment.

I know that my DD doesn't like the HM stretch room and has asked several times to bypass it. She has bypassed it several times with no problem, but, since the DAS, it seems like the HM CM's are not doing that anymore. My DD went to GR in City Hall and explained her need and asked if there was anything they could do to help her. She was nice and explained her needs and the problem she has with the stretch room. They called ahead and my DD was able to avoid it. The time before (in 2011) she was told they didn't have enough staff to take someone around to board the doombuggy at the exit. I am not sure what the problem is with letting someone avoid the stretch room if there is a clear need, which you have.

I think that this situation is a good example of where the DAS card doesn't explain all the needs a person may have. A person with visual impairments would also need to explain at the attraction what their need is. I know my DD has a DAS card because she has difficulty standing in lines (she will become frustrated and overwhelmed when others are "in her bubble"), but, she also has some visual impairments. She has to explain this every time she needs accommodations (HM, Soarin, and shows)

If there is a QR code I must be blind.....

Honestly, in that picture, the card looks as though it has been altered. It looks like the area where the QR code would be has been blanked out, and there is an odd set of numbers in the lower right hand corner that don't appear in any of the pictures online of Disneyland DAS cards.

That blank spot is where the QR code should print. Even though they were printed on the cards, they were not using the QR codes at first at WDW or DL - from what I heard, they did not have readers for them right away.
I know WDW is printing and using them because DD has gotten renewals with them reading it at WDW.
It's possible that DL had issues and stopped printing them.

The numbers on the bottom are part of the printing. On the WDW cards, they are smaller. I don't know if they are account numbers, but they are on other cards.
I would still bring the card with.

Thanks for that info Sue - I've just never seen the numbers.

Also, I want to clarify that I was in no way accusing the OP of tampering with or altering the card, and if it came off that way, I apologize.

lol i was :worried: I knew it was real but now I feel like i was walking around with a fake lol! I am glad there is no code on mine maye i will be able to take another picture, I look horrible in that one

Again, I would take your old DAS card with you when you request your new one. The CM took our old one and issued a new one with no questions. They did take a new picture of my DD.

I would also be prepared to explain any additional accommodations that you need at the individual attractions. The DAS card is for issues related to standing in lines. My DD's experience is one where the DAS card did not solve and Disney worked with her individual needs to accommodate her.

Just a question. My son had a DAS the last trip. I am not quite sure where it is. I have an idea of where it could be but if it's not in that place it's lost, lol. Will they be able to look up his info in the computer without the old DAS?

After it was such a pain in the butt to get, I have carried mine around in my wallet so I didn't not loose it. I would also like to know if they keep record so I don't have to be so paranoid.

I would call or e-mail Disney and tell them about your experience, since they are not supposed to require documentation. Make sure that you get the name of the person you talk to at Disney.

No one has posted whether they were able to get their information looked up just by name without having the card.

I know some people were told if they didn't have the actual card, they would need to go thru the same process they did to get the original card.
No one has posted whether that actually happened or not.

So, worst case scenario if the card is lost is that you will need to re-apply for the card. Best case scenario is that they would be able to retrieve the information and you may need a new picture.

Ok thanks I will look for that card and hopefully I can find it.

This past weekend, we had to give info all over again (Card got left at home), there was not a way to "look up" the info.

This will probably sound dumb, but perhaps when the new DAS is issued, try taking a close up of the QR code on your smart phone?

I know that I can redeem electronic gift cards with QR codes by having them scanned at the checkout...it might be worth a try to have it on the phone, and if the CM is able to scan it, you could provide ID to prove the names match.

It might be worth a try, just in case it's left at home or lost.
