Quick carry on question

Leaving in the morning, I know I can not take liquids except the baby formula that I have in cans and ready to pull out for the screeners. Can you take food such as cheese and crackers or does all food have to be purchased after the security screeners? I want to make sure to have a snack for the 5 year old.

As long as the snacks are not gel or liquid, you can bring them. Cheese and Crackers will be fine.
