Hi everyone.. we are in the process of making a few dining reservations for our upcoming trip in May. My parents will also be there for a few days but are unsure of their dining plans. Would it be smart to make reservations for 5 at this point and just revise them closer to the date to 3 people if my parents are not interested? I'm guessing it would be better to start with 5.. instead of making reservations for 3 and having to add them on. Thoughts?
Thank you in advance!

I would make them for 5 then modify them when your parents solidify their plans. If you make them for 3, availability for 5 may not be available when they make their plans.

Great, thanks for your quick reply! So is it safe to assume that we'll still be able to hold onto the reservation if we downgrade it to 3? I just don't want to risk losing our reservation altogether.
