Quick ? about California Grill

I'm hoping that everyone here believes that no question is a dumb question, because I might be popping out a dumb one here.


ADRs and the DP stuff aside, if someone was to get into California Grill, but only wanted to order desert and watch wishes...could they do that?

I feel silly asking. heh

If you had an ADR, or could get into the lounge, I suppose you could.

I'd consider doing that if I was sitting in the lounge, but I wouldn't take up a table for it.

They'll only let you up for the lounge if there is enough space for you. Not likely at fireworks time.

Okay then, say you did have an ADR for a table...

I guess what I'm trying to get at is, is there a set "dining rule" you have to follow? "Everyone at the table must order a minimum of $___"

Not that I know of. Personally I have a visceral reaction to taking up a table in a popular place just to order dessert. Especially if you want a window table. But as far as I know that is not a rule.

We have been to the Cali Grill twice and both times we arrived with no ADRs and were seated pretty quickly (just dumb luck) with kids in tow.The first time we said ...."sure we will eat at the bar".....best meal ever .....bartender was an excellent server and very entertaining. I don't think there is a "dining rule".If you are seated.....order what you like and as long as you give the waiter a good tip 18 percent or better I don't think he will mind either. I feel unless your seated next to the window the next best view is from the large catwalk they have right outside of the resturant.Went up many times just to get a drink and watch from outside.
