Queue Testing @ Rock n' Roller Coaster Today

testing was done at the ESPN Wide World of Sports, not at the attraction

No RNRC queue testing I am aware of today...there was testing a few months ago of the "reserved queue" system that was in theory really a test of the system to be used at Dumbo, but it only lasted a couple of days.

Haven't heard anything at RRR at USO either.

they were testing today at ESPN WWoS.

There was a thread a while back about a new queue they were testing at RnR. I think you were given a letter (A, B, C, etc) and you were sent to a "holding" area to relax until your letter was called. Then when your letter was called you went in and rode as a group.

HTH

no, operations was testing the RNR queueless system today, at ESPN WWoS. Not for guests, just prepping it.

they've added covered tents and changed a couple of things.

Isn't "queueless system" an oxymoron? We are trained with every single attraction at WDW and elsewhere all our lives to wait in a queue/line. Do they really think that we as human beings can ignore all that training and experience to not queue/line up and wait for the calling?

When I go to a place that offers the infamous "take a number" system, I don't stand in a line.

I take a seat, maybe grab a soda pop, or pull up the DIS on the iPhone, etc, and wait until my number comes up.

Very similar situation to the new queue system.

It can vary in effectiveness by the kind of waiting area and degree (and distribution) of display of the "call-back" counter (knowing when your "number" will come up.)

Hmm...so it seems it is coming back to RNRC...

can't wait for queueless system to be in place. IMO it will save alot of time doing nothing. Although most attractions have pretty cool lines to wait in.

They were running the new standyby line yesterday @ RnR about an hour after opening when the line jumped to around 90 minute wait. We didn't use it since we had fp's, but I talked to several folks about it who did while waiting for limo pre-show and in line for boarding. Mixed reviews. Some liked it since they could sit instead of standing the whole time, others liked it since they could do something (GH, etc..) while waiting for their group to be called. And then others noted there were lines of people waiting for GH and the games and some were still lining up waiting for their group to be called (think folks who stand at the front of the fp return entrance to attractions before their time).

What I could tell with our informal poll, more positives than negatives.

Thanks for the firsthand report!:)

I understood, that as opposed to the first test, this test would be utilizing the "lot" by RnRC used for the ESPN Zone during ESPN-The Weekend. Was that the case?

Also reports are this "Queueless System" "MAY" be "installed" during the upcoming refurb. As with almost ANYTHING at WDW,time will tell.:)

Thanks again for taking the time to post a firsthand report.:)
