So if i am understanding correctly only those in the "usa" get mickey mail?

We are 34 days out now & not using their shuttle so do not need the tags & i assume park tickets will be on our kttw keys therefore they do not need to send us anything?

Also does anyone know if you can buy those keychain things that you would put on your arm to not lose them at target or walmart? I used to see them all the time but now they are sparse where i live (large town but not city).

Do baggies really work to protect cameras if we double tripple bag glad bags or do we need to buy the special ones?

One last question, is the new photopass + worth it? $169+ seems like a lot of money. I know we could get regular photopass but we have a few character breakfasts so if i am going to pay for it i might as well go all out but i know i would have a hard time convincing husband to spend the money on it.

I start out good taking pics then start having such a good time i forget about pics so i am worried if we don't do this we won't have pics, though my 13 year old son would love to be cameraman too just not sure how good they would be, they are awful on his ipod lol.

You should still get the package details. I got a little booklet that has the coupons and things that are included in the package.

As for the baggies, are you trying to protect your camera on water rides? I would think a good baggie would be fine. I usually just put my camera bag down, but i have a good camera bag and a big camera, so it protects a little better.

I would assume you can get those keychain thingies at Walmart or Target, I've never really looked. You might even be able to get one at your resort.

I don't know about the photopass+ as I've never done it. If you plan on buying the pictures from the character meals and the ride photos, I would assume it would be worth it. I bought one 5x7 at DL this year and it was probably about $16. I know the meal packages are probably around $30 if you helps you do your calculations.

Hope that helps!

1. Fortunately, you're wrong. They send Mickey mail to Canada too

2. If you booked room only, then they do not send Mickey Mail. If you booked a vacation package you will receive it. They send a booklet full of vouchers that give all of your resort information and other info such as dining and tickets. There are also other miscellaneous vouchers. Usually there are a couple of souvenir luggage tags as well. DON'T LOSE that booklet, and bring it with you to check in, since it has your confirmation numbers, etc. MM usually comes 3-4 weeks from check in.

3. Not sure what you are referring to here. If you are talking about keycard carriers- most people use the lanyards that go around the neck combined with an ID holder. These can be purchased at Walmart or any office supply store. The Disney themed ones can be purchased at your resort. The only keycard holders on wrist straps that I know of at WDW are the ones found at the waterparks.

4. I use a gallon size ziplock bag for our electronics and keep that in our backpack if we're going on a water ride like Kali Rapids, or if we're in the parks on a really rainy day. I usually have my camera around my neck and just put it under my poncho if it's raining.

5. 'Worth it' is an individual value judgement, so what's good for one family is a total waste of money for others. We love taking photos, so have only done photopass on special occasions where it was important that we have group photos of everyone. We won't do the photopass plus since we don't go on all of the rides that have ride photos, don't do more than one or two character meals, and don't do a lot of character meet and greets.

Photopass - will be an individual decision. My mom and I did it on our last trip and it was totally worth it. Do you want to buy their pics that they take. We got ours on a buy before you get there deal, and only paid $99. Which meant, we only needed to get half a dozen pics or so to make it worth it. And we ended up getting around 20. When you do the math, it made it worth it. Im glad I did it.

Ziplock bags - do work for cameras. I carry a small purse and will put the whole thing in a large ziploc when I go on wet rides. Have never had an issue. If u don't care about the bag itself getting wet, just put the camera in a ziploc bag. It will stay nice and dry, while you don't:lmao:

And you will def get Mickey Mail if you live in Canada. I look forward to it for each trip....makes me feel like its really here!! Either look out for it, or give a call to Disney and ask if you should be recieving it. But, it should be any time if you are to get it.

Have a FANTASTIC trip:goodvibes:goodvibes

Thanks guys you have made me excited. We have a vacation deal so i am so glad to get mickey mail. Almost at the 4 week mark now :)

I found the little keychain things. they go around your arm & are spiral so that when you to go to say the water parks there is almost 0 chance of it falling off, whereas around your neck you could lose it.

I am still undecided about photopass. I am worried i will regret it no matter what i choose. :rotfl2:

I got my ME tags last week....

And my full Mickey Mail package Monday.

We arrive Aug 18.

Got mine today, but not sure hot to make the mickey luggage tags stick together, guess i will glue them lol

???

They are together... just slide the IDENTIFICATION card into it....

Don't glue - you will ruin them.

There is 1 for everyone in your party.

The ID card's are in the voucher booklet. Perforated edge.... fill them in and tear them out.

i got the id part in, but the thing that attaches them to your suitcase has nothing to attach it, they are just open, that is the part i will have to glue, not on the luggage tag itself

I have never been to Disney but we are going Aug 17. I booked through a TA in the US and she has not got our mickey mail yet, we are hoping she gets it in time to send it up this way.

I bought photopass +, it came last week. I want to be in some of the pictures and we are doing most of the character meals included with it.

[ETA: OOPS, the PP beat me to it. And watching a video is SOOOO much easier than trying to explain it. LOL

Well, photopass was worth it for us after we lost our camera on the first day! :rotfl:
We did manage to get it from the lost and found area a few days later, but without the photopass we wouldn't have had any pics from our first few days.

We pre-purchased, and we went with another family so we shared, so technically we only had to pay 1/2.
