There is a reception location in AK called Tamu Tamu, it's an outdoor reception location. It's very pretty. I don't have pics of it but I'm sure if you search around you could find pics.
I don't think DPs are offered there because there's no real nightly show at AK. No fireworks, no outdoor show, so there'd really be nothing to see while you have desserts.
One comment first the people at disney weddings need to get better organized its hard to reach my sales consulant anymore and have to wait till weds for the next appointment with her. Now a few more questions about hiring outside photo and video people who do you nice folks recommend and also can I get a budget report from some of you to compare mine. Thanks Mike
You can book an outside photographer for any DFTW as long as you won't have an in-park location. If you want an AK reception you'll have to hire disney fine art photography. Any theme park ceremony or reception can only be photographed by a disney photographer.
Outside phtographer suggestions: I used Randy Chapman but there are so many Orlando based photographers available. If you check around to other DISBrides planning journals you'll see different options. Some of the popular ones are Randy, Misty Miotto, The Arndts, The Roots... and so many more who are amazing.
check out www.disneyeventgroup.com. theme park events are under the last choice (maybe content and networking?), then animal kingdom.
There is a dessert event at animal kingdom. it is called happily everest after dessert party. no fireworks, but your group hangs out in the asia are with streetmosphere performers, a fake yeti, etc. there are desserts and a chance to ride expedition everest with your group.
Someone also posted about having a festival of the lion king gala dinner for the reception, but i can't remember who.
Disneyeventgroup.com also has a lot of pictures of possible floral, decor, other options for chargers, etc. They also have EPCOT menus. it is a good spot to look around.
We're having our reception at Tamu Tamu. What do you want to know? We toured it about two weeks ago.
Other AK options are Tusker House (across the path from Tamu Tamu), Expedition Everest Base Camp and the palace ruins on the tiger trail (I can't remember the name of it off the top of my head).
