I am researching my second vacation week for later and I am clueless so some help be appreciated!

1. What is RCI? I have a guess that its basically like renting DVC points where someone owns a timeshare and rents their time basically.

2. Anyone have a positive in ebay vs skyauction? I havent looked a whole lot on skyauction but have seen a cpl posts about $125 fee plus $25 fee etc. Anyone experience fees on ebay to same extent?

3. I have noticed there is atleast 3 or 4 places that these are semi frequent such as Summer Bay etc. Any advice on which would suit me best?

This will probably be a solo vacation mostly so dont need a big place with a lot of amentities. Mom might join me for a day as im thinking of making trip to HHN and MNSSHP so a 2 bedroom or even 1 with pool/hot tub be nice. My dates are pretty flexible but I am thinking either early OCT or late sept trying to make it after free dining to see if it lowers attendance at parks. Going to have my own car because I will be driving there and a 15 min drive to save some money wouldnt bother me.

4. I am debating between a cheap hotel or this. I saw I believe it was Comfort Inn for $50 which would be like $350 for the price of a hotel room or so and have seen ppl getting deals like that on condos.

5. Besides skyauction and ebay is there specific sites for things like this? Is there a lot of fees involved usually moreso then a hotel would ask for? The ebay auction I saw involved the condo for a week and a $150 deposit which is not too bad.

Thanks for help,
Jonny

I've seen some great deals on ebay and got a 2BR/2BA condo at Cypress Pointe Grande Villas for $300 for the week of Dec. 16th - 23rd, 2006. I had no problems, and it was great (had a washer/dryer, was very spacious, and they gave us our requests - ground floor, facing the pool). Some of the other condos in the area come up with some great deals too.

If you do ebay, just make sure that you are careful about your seller. Some have used Renting Resorts (mine was jumpbackjack0). As long as they have great feedback, are SquareTrade verified, and accept credit cards through Paypal, you're probably okay, but you do need to do your research.

RCI is a vacation exchange network. I have a timeshare with Wyndham Resorts (Bonnet Creek) and I'm also a member of RCI The points that I own can be deposited into my RCI account and they can be used at any non-Wyndham resort listed in the RCI Resort Directory.
