I thought that the food court appliances- microwave, toaster - we're for the guests to use for food they brought with them. I assumed this was because they don't want you cooking in your room.

I am now under the impression that I will get stares if I go down to the food court to toast the bagel I brought with me in the morning.

What is the proper ettiquette for the food court appliances?

I've seen plenty of guests walking into a food court, bread/bagel in hand and toast it. I don't remember seeing anyone give them any strange looks. But, I tend to eat at the food courts at less busy times, so that may be a factor.

When the Food & Fun Center was open at the Contemporary, if my family and I brought back some food we took home from a restaurant we would re-heat it in the microwave. For example one time my Dad and I were at Downtown Disney and my Mom asked us to get her something from the Earl of Sandwich. Because she did not want it right away when we got back, we kept in our fridge and later on went down to heat it up in their microwave with no problems at all.

we used the appliances plenty in the past for toasting andn reheating etc... i see no issue with it and there is no signage that said it was only for the food court food.

Yup -- what everybody else said! ::yes:: We reheated food (usually leftover sandwiches from EofS) several times at Cap'n Cook's during our Poly stay last May.
