We are going to Orlando May 10-17, 2008; we being myself (56), my DH (56), DD (34), SIL (34), and two grandkids (ages 7 & 9). Normally we go to WDW, but thought we would check out US & IOA when we go next May.
We are staying off-site at Houses at Summer Bay.
I have been reading the various threads re US and IOA and am concerned that unless we get to the parks at a very early hour (by 8:30AM) we will have long waits. I am so used to FastPasses at WDW, never having to wait very long for any rides.
I have not purchased our tickets for Universal yet, still trying to decide whether we should go to WDW instead. But don't want to wait to long and miss out on the 7-day discounted tickets.
I know part of my hesitation is because I am so used to WDW, and not knowing the layout of the parks (US & IOA). Also, paying $11 per day to park seems outrageous to me (we have annual passes at WDW so our parking is free there).
Ok, so I need you guys to tell me we'll do "fine" at US & IOA. Since we have a year to plan our trip, I'm sure you'll all make me feel very comfortable about going there.
