Questions RE: Hoop Dee Doo Revue

We have a PS for HDDR. I had read some wonderful reviews on it. I have in the past couple of months read some not so good reviews.

Can anyone help???? This was going to be our first night dinner.

Went last November and we all had a great time. The kids did not know what to expect but laughed and had a great time. The food is very good and the unlimited drinks (soft drinks, beer & wine) is a real nice touch. The entertainment is very good and the service is great. We stronly recommend it !

and even more than i loved it, i loved watching my children love it! it was the absolute highlight of our trip! it's a bargain at twice the price! a "must do!" LOVE IT!! (have i mentioned that i love it?! LOL!)

food is outstanding, entertainment is outstanding, the location is a bit difficult to get to but worth any hassle... i can not think of a better way to kick off a disney vacation, although it may "ruin" you for all other experiences w/nothing else matching up!

We had my birthday dinner there. We had a great time! We will deffinately be doing that again. All you can eat and drink, and great show to boot. Can't beat that! Must see and do!!

Absolutely terrific experience. We've done it twice in the past 7 visits....one could argue that once is enough....but I would also argue that at least once is a must!
Me, my wife and three kids....14, 10 and 6. The 14-year-old is a boy...a good kid who enjoys Disney, but also a football-playing, "cool" kid. He loved it...."corny-ness" and all.
Silly, meaningless jokes and puns....clever lines....some pretty good singers (and pretty singers!)....really, just a very enjoyable experience. Food is good....maybe very good...but not excellent. (Loved the unlimited beer!)
Definetly something that needs to be experienced....despite the relative high price. (Our feeling is, you don't get the chance to go to Disney that often....go ahead and splurge!)

Thanks I'm excited to go too!!!! Does anyone know if they work with the meal for a picky kid. Not sure the my dd will eat ribs. She likes chicken but has to be in the mood. I didn't know if I should bring something with us for her.

I think you will really enjoy it. Over 25 years of visiting WDW, we have been there on 5 different occasions. We've always had a wonderful time. The food is pretty good and the service is great. Enjoy!

We went to the HDR a few weeks ago with our five year old and all of us loved it. If you call 48 hours in advance they will arrange for mac & cheese, or pizza or probably chicken fingers. We arranged this because my son is very picky. You will have a great time!

We did HDDR last summer and really enjoyed it. We were supposed to do it on 8/14 but it was cancelled due to Hurricane Charley, so we had to rebook for 2 days later. We ended up sitting in the upper level but it wasn't too bad. We enjoyed everything except for the strawberry shortcake! Dh and I both thought it was yucky.

I thought I knew a fair amount about WDW but I didn't know that I could call ahead for something different for my dd. We did ask when we got there if she could have mac and cheese or just some chicken fingers. The server did bring some mac and cheese but we got some attitude with it!!! Live and learn. I'll be calling ahead next time. Thanks for the tip.

We've been twice, and I don't know how you could go to the Hoop de doo and NOT have a good time! The humor is corny, but still belly-laugh funny, the food is good, and it's a great way to spend family time. As an added bonus, you may end up on stage like I did last time!

we did not call ahead and as soon as our server saw that the kids were not eating what they had, she offered mac/cheese and/or pizza... everyone was happy

We just asked for a hotdog and fries when we sat down. Didn't have to call ahead.
