Ok, now that august hours are out, I'm working on a more detailed itinarery. here's the questions that arise.

Sunday Aug 17 we will start at Animal Kingdom and at close (5pm) go eat somewhere then head over to MGM for Fantasmic, and hope to get in Great movie ride before waiting for Fantasmic.

Question 1: How long does it take to get from Animal Kingdom to MGM by car?

Question 2: How soon do i have to get in line for Fantasmic for my specific day? Note: one Fantasmic show at 8:30.

Also, on Monday we will start out at MGM and stay till about 6:45 then leave for Magic Kingdom to catch the 8:30 Spectromagic.

Question 3: How soon do i need to get to Magic Kingdom on this day to get a decent spot for Spectromagic? This gets us there around 7:15ish. We ususally sit on main street.

Question 4: How long does it take to get from MGM to Magic Kingdom by car?

Question 5: By Disney Transportation?

Thank you all!

ok from what concierge tells me - from the contemporary (right next to MK) one should plan for an hour going by the resort buses. ... but he says if you subtract the stops the bus must make along the way then it is 30 minutes - if you are a nutball fool like I am when driving I'd say 15 max - but then I drive like a bat out of &^*( and no one should drive like that including myself so plan a minimum of 30 minutes - if it is a torrential downpour (like happens sometimes in FL) then plan on much longer as at times it can be difficult to even see out the windshield let alone see the road.

FRom Ak TO MGM I have no idea - I have been told as a general rule always plan a minimum of 45 to and hour

2 and 3 I would say about an hour - some on here will say longer but I would say an hour to for sure get to be where you want to be - althhough christmas 2001 we found a fairly good place maybe 1/2 an hour before spectromagic

An hour ahead of Fantasmic is ususally enough to make sure you get in, but if you want a "good" spot, or if its a busy day, you might want to try to get there earlier.

For Spectro, we've seen it once in September, and several other times in May/June, and an hour would never have been enough time to get a front row Main Street spot, but probably is enough to get a "2nd or 3rd row" spot. Again, though, it depends on how busy it is, and how often Spectro is being performed that week.

When we were there in late May, by 7pm there wern't any front row seats left, and that was for the 8:30 Spectro. I was amazed at how quickly everyone started to find there spot.

Hi!

We were at Disney in early May. The parade was at 8:30 p.m. We made sure we were back at MK by 5:30 p.m. to grab spots on the curb (my in-laws thought I was crazy). By 6:00 p.m. (2 1/2 hours before parade time), all spots on the curb were gone!!! I stayed on the curb with my MIL while my DH, DD, DS and FIL went to FantasyLand. By the way, the week we went, the parks were empty, but there was only one showing of Spectro that week (Tuesday).

Hope you enjoy it!!!
