Questions on Waitlists

I called today and booked a ressie for 12/19 thru 12/23 , but was not able to get any of the resorts I really wanted. I wanted BCV, BWV, BLT or AKV in that order, but none of those were available (which is understandable at this late date). I waitlisted for both BWV and AKV thinking based on size and demand that one of those two was more likely to come thru than the others - BCV or BLT.

My first question is do you think AKV is more likely to come thru than BLT at this point?

My second question is if one of the two that I waitlisted does comes thru, does it eliminate the waitlist for the other automatically?

I can answer your second question. Once one of the two waiting list entries are satisfied, the other is cancelled.

I'm on a waiting list for a 2-bedroom at Thanksgiving (we booked a 1 Bdrm but my son and wife want to come along), and MS told me that when one goes through the other would be cancelled. I suppose if one comes through, you could always call MS and add a new waitlist entry for the other.

The PP answered your second question so I will take a shot at your first. This would be simply my opinion, but I would say that AKV would come through before BLT. This would depend on how many rooms have been declared at BLT by the time you take your trip and what type of accomodation and view you are trying to get at BLT. However, based on the size at AKV and the fact that BLT just opened I would be surprised if BLT would come through at that time of year.

We cancelled our AKV ressie in favor of BLT figuring it would be very difficult to get BLT in the future. We own at AKV so we can go there any time. We booked our trip the day they opened it up to non BLT owners and still could not get a MK view. I am on that WL and have no expectation of getting it. If I was willing to split my stay I might be able to get one night with a MK view, but I'm happy just to be there so it doesn't really matter. If you are willing to WL for a single night or smaller portion of your trip you might have a better chance. Again this is all just my opinion.

At this stage, AKV should be much easier to get than BLT.
