Hi there,

Dh and I are taking a kid free trip in July, and I have been looking for some different places to eat. The menu at the pub looks like a good fit for us, we could have some smaller portions, so we have room for the yummy desserts, and it looks like dh can get a beer sampler??? I am wondering what kind of seating they have, and if it's hard to get tables? We usually eat by 5:30 or so, and I have read there are no ADR's here.

Thanks!

We had ADR's there last Sept. so unless they changed their policy since then I'd say you can still get an ADR. That being said, Rose and Crown was probably one of my least favourite meals. The food just wasn't what I was expecting. It was nice to sit on the patio and it definitely has the feel of a British Pub, but all in all not one of my favourites. I know lots of people enjoy it there so it could very well just be me.

rose and crown was really good! we went there two years ago and sat on the patio for the illuminations you would need adrs' but once you check in ask to sit in the patio the menu was fairly sized i had the bangers and mash and my then fiancee had the fish and chips but i say it is a must :thumbsup2

I think they put the Rose and Crown where it is for a very good reason. It's halfway from the entrance to the far side of the lake. On a hot day, whenever those rare events happen in Florida, it is a great stop to dash into the air con and cool off while enjoying a real Black and Tan before you continue on your journey.

I am a little confused now, because the posts I've looked up in the past, state you can only get ADR's at the Rose and Crown, not the Rose and Crown Pub. There are 2 different menus on Deb's site, so I assumed it was 2 different parts of the same building? I like the smaller portions on the Pub menu. Can anyone confirm anything for me?

Those of you who had ADR's, was it for the main dining room?

Thanks!

They are different. No ARs for the pub. It is at the front of the building.

There are only a handful of tables plus some stools at the bar. We liked the portion of fish and chips better than the same entry in the dining room. Crisper and smaller. You can also order the same great cheese and fruit plate that is available in the dining room.

We've only eaten at the Rose and Crown in the main dining room. We both had the Chicken Pasties and our meals were dee-lish!

There was a bar inside, with open seating, so I would guess that is considered the pub. The pub menu on allears looks like more of a counter service menu to me, I'm guessing that's why you can't make an ADR. If so, you'll be able to get in, you may have to wait a while, but you'll get in. Sorry, I can't remember what the seating was like (if that was the pub in the first place), we just walked past it on the way to the bathroom.

(ETA: oops, guess I should hit refresh before posting, when I walk away mid-typing. BCV's explanation was better!)

We ate the Rose and Crown on our recent trip to Epcot. We ate out on the patio and had ADRs. The pub was quite crowded every time we passed by, so I think it might be difficult to get a seat. That being said, you could just pass by and see what it looks like around the time you're ready to eat dinner. They have a shop outside that sells fish and chips and the beer if the pub is too busy. I had the fish and chips for my dinner and it was excellent! Enjoy!

If you want to sit outside go to the beer garden with the fish and chips plus beer. If you are looking at the R & C to the right is the fish and chip 'take away' in the middle is the pub at the front then to the left is a little beer garden area. It is a good place to sit and eat on the cooler evenings.

Claire ;)

I love the Rose and Crown and you can get ADR's for the TS part of it. At the front of the building is the pub. We like to go in and order a beer at the counter and walk around with it, but everytime I've ever been in there, there is no seating available. I think people like to grab a table when they can find one open and take their time and relax for awhile in there. There are very few tables. If you want to, you can take the advice of a previous poster and visit the Yorkshire Co. Fish Shop right next door to the pub. They have out door tables and you can grab a Guinness with your fish and chips. There is also an area down by the water to your right of the fish shop where you can go down and sit by the water.

You might consider trying to grab a table at the pub at on off hour, like 11 am before lunch or between lunch and supper. This might help you get a table!

The pub is usually crowded and noisy. If you like smaller portions, and you can agree, you could make an ADR at the restaurant and split an entree. I think you will have a more relaxing time at the restaurant, especially if you can get a table on the patio.

I do a quick check in the pub every time we are there. Never have seen an open table except right as it opens.

Most people hanging out in the pub seem to be passing the time while waiting on their dining reservations at the restaurant. I've always had luck getting a table there, though sometimes we've had to stand and wait for 5-10 minutes for someone to leave.

My DBIL had the fish and chips from the take away part of the shop and thoroughly enjoyed them! :teeth:

DH and DDad have had to take their beers out or sit right at the bar as there has never been a table available when we've been in! They like to "chill out" with a chilled beer while DMum and I have a look round the shops! :thumbsup2
