Questions on Old Paper tickets

Sorry if this is answered somewhere, but I can't find it (if someone could point me to where the oft-referenced sticky ticket thread is that would be great!) - we have old 10 day park hopper no expiration paper tickets from 2006 that still have several days left on them (I think 5-6, but not exactly sure). So several questions:

1 - I don't think I can add these paper tickets to MDE, so my only option is to wait until I am at Disney to deal with this?
2 - will these be exchanged to newer plastic tickets?
3 - will the new tickets retain the same benefits, especially the "no expiration"? We are only using 2 days on this trip (my parents now live in the area so this will be a quick trip).
4 - I assume I am out of luck on FP+ and cannot use the advance booking since the tickets cannot be linked? We are staying onsite.
5 - the kids' tickets for for 3-9 year olds, and they are obviously not that any more! But their tickets, which have been partially used, will be converted to older aged tickets for free, right?

Thanks for any help!

If there is a sticky on this subject, I haven't seen it, either. I'm dealing with old paper tickets at the moment as well. Please note that I'm NOT an expert on this subject, but I hope this gets you started:

1. You should call (407) 939-6204 (listed in MDE) to get the tickets linked to your account. I think tickets from 2006 can be added with a phone call.

2. Not sure, it might depend on your MagicBand situation? I think they would just show up there?

3. Good question!

4. If they can link them over the phone, you should be able to make your fp+ selections at 60 days out.

5. Yes. There's no penalty for growing up (as a CM once told me)!

3. Yes, they will be the same tickets, just on different stock.

The thread was removed as a sticky because it hadn't been updated in a long time, and unfortunately it won't get updated anymore because Cheshire Figment (the poster who maintained it) recently passed away. There's a sticky about it in this forum.

Oh, I had no idea! Thanks for pointing that out, @siskaren. After reading about his passing, I clicked on the link to read the ticket thread he maintained - in which I quickly found the answers to at least two questions that took me months to figure out. What a testament to his contributions here.

From post #8:

Almost all tickets issued prior to 2005 (other than Length of Stay, Bounce Back, or Annual Passes) had no expiration. This includes both the major park entries and the minor park plus options. Exceptions include the World Hopper and Super Duper Pass; for these ticket all WPF&M entries expired seven days from first use, although the major park entries remained valid.
At the current time any prior passes are valid at all four of the major parks, even if one or more of the parks did not exist when the ticket was issued. A Park Hopper Plus, which was issued during the time that Disney Quest was open did not include Disney Quest as an entry; accordingly, the Park Hopper Plus still cannot be used for entry to Disney Quest. Additionally, the Park Hopper Plus cannot be used for either of the miniature golf courses or for the 30 minutes at the PlayStation Pavilion at WWS. But it can be used for the water parks, Oak Trail Golf and entry to WWS.

If a prior ticket, unused or partially used, was not on stock with a magnetic stripe, or the magnetic stripe was demagnetized, you can get the tickets replaced at no charge at any park (including water parks or TTC) ticket booth or Guest Relations Office. Note that this cannot be done at Resort Lobby Concierge locations as they do not have full access to the ticketing computer.
