questions on magic express

I have split stay at disney in november, staying 2 nights at pop century then 3 more night at old key west. I have booked only first night car rental. I have originally plan to return the car the 2nd day, hop on the magic express back to the hotel. When I called magic express, I was told I can only use the magic express the days of check-in and check-out (which mean I can use ME only on the first day, third day and sixth day). Does this sound right? If this is true, then I have to either return the car the night of first day or rent another day. thanks for your input.

Did you call Magical Express itself (toll-free number starting with area code 866), or did you call the general Disney number (1-407-9347639)?

Each Guest is entitled to one ride from MCO to Walt Disney World on or after the day their reservation starts, and one ride from WDW to MCO on or before the day they check out. Therefore, you should be entitled to Magical Express transportation on the day you indicate.

You can use DME anytime during your stay - just not more than 1 round trip. My dh has often arrived after us and or left before we do - no problem at all.

As long as you are a resort guest on the day you want to use DME and make an advance reservation you will be fine. Some of the reservation CM's don't know as much as they could about DME unfortunately.

Call the DME number rather than CRO and they will be able to make the reservation for you.

You can use Magical Express, it isn't a problem either call them now and make the reservation or wait until you get to OKW and then call and make the reservation.

You can use it to get back to POP, on that second day...they don't need to know you've been there for 24 hrs already.
When you get to OKW, just go down to the front desk and make your return DME reservation. Just don't leave it too late. I actually would do it when you checkin, just to be sure you get it done on time.

kaytieeldr has the right idea. Call DME directly at 866-599-0951. The people answering that line are DME cast members, and are experts in all things DME. The cast members answering the phones at 407-W-DISNEY know nothing about how DME works ... the problem is that they think they do! 407-W-DISNEY gives terrible information on DME. Call DME directly at 866-599-0951 and they'll hook you up with what you need.
