Questions on dvc ressie at christmas 2007

looking for some help.. this will only be our second dvc trip.. our home resort is ssr and we would like to stay at the bcv right after christmas next year or even at thanksgiving.. our year begins in feb... when would we be able to start booking and what is the chance we will be able to do either?? any help would be appreciated.

July...you can find this in your members vacation planner or you can download Caskbill's DVC programs. I don't have the link handy at the moment, but if you search the DVC forums for it you should find it easily enough. I know that there is a current thread about banking points...not sure which board though...and it has a link in it.


Another option is to go ahead and book at SSR in the 11 month window and then transfer to BCV at the 7 month window...or maybe there is an easier way to do that...know I've seen some of the wise ol' DVC DISsers telling how to do this on the boards before.

When you make reservations has nothing to do with Use Year. It's a hard concept to get over for many people. For thanksgiving time, you could start in April, after christmas would be may. (7 months out from desired ressie.)

As noted above, though, your safest bet is to book SSR at 11 months and switch at 7, just to make sure you have somewhere to stay for sure.

if you really want BCV - go over the rental/trade board and see if someone will trade you their BCV points for your SSR points.

Call day by day exactly at 7 months out from checkout for each day. So call 7 months from Day 2, 7 months from Day 3, etc. until you get all your days. But in the mean time, make a reservation at SSR until you start getting those BCV days.

I was right though in saying there were some wise ol' DVC DISsers who would know a better way...thanks for proving that right!
