Questions on AP, activation, making FP, amd adding ppl w no AP

Hi all!! Just looking for help and guidance! Dh and I will be traveling January, sept, and dec of 2015. We want to buy APs.

1. If we buy them today, is it true that they are not "activated" until we actually pick them up at WC? We don't want the year itself to start today bc that would defeat the purpose lol!

2. If we buy them today w the intention of using them beginning in January, the confirmation number for the 2 APs can be entered into MDE and we can make fastpass selections at 60 days out... Again assuming these aren't activated?

3. In December, we are traveling w family members who have never been to disney and do not have MDE accounts. I will be managing everyone's reservations, dining, etc. question is, If me and dh have our APs, can we also buy the MYW tickets for them through disney, and then will I be able to book FP for all of us once the 60 day window opens? Would there be any problems bc we have APs and they have regular tickets? Thanks everyone!!!
