Questions, Hotel, Time of Year, Packages

Hi All, Planning a trip out West for 2012, have been trying for the past couple of years and going to make this happen. I have a couple of questions, first of all, I am really torn on a time of year, I am torn between Halloween and Christmas, so would like your advice. Also torn between Paradise Pier and the Disneyland Hotel. Also Ariel's does a WOC dinner package, correct?? Are they good? Also not sure how it works with the parades, but the Soundsational Parade that is coming, I am guessing will still be running then and would like to see that so wasn't sure if they cut that off during those Holiday times. Your advice is greatly appreciated. Thank You.

I love both Halloween and Christmas in DLR so I can't help with that.

Right now the DLH is under major renovations and I'm not sure when its supposed to be complete.

Ariel's is very good. One of our favorite meals.

If you are going during the Xmas season they will be showing the holiday parade instead of the regular parade.

Halloween or Christmas? Have you done either before? Do you want to do the party at either? Though Christmas hasn't had tickets events like Halloween it's looking moreand more likely that it will. So Christmas at DL may improve, still though which do you like best? At least Halloween has much nicer weather.


DLH, though it will probably go up in price since it is all being redone. Used to be $15 more for the hotel that is close to the monorail and has the walk through DTD to the parks. But by this time next year it's going to have a completly redone pool area and all newly redone rooms, so the price difference is likely to go up.

AG and WCT do WoC dinner packages but in almost two years a lot could change.

The parades do change during Christmas, though if, as I mentioned, they make that a ticketed event they may run the Christmas parade during Chirstmas party's only and the regular parade on other days. Same for the fireworks.

However Soundsational is not just a new parade, it also incorporates the next generation of Disney parade infrastructure. By Fall of 2012 all the parades may be different.

Just thought I would give this a bump to see if anyone else had any thing to say. I do realize that between now and the end of 2012 there could be some changes, but I am thinking that The Soundsational Paradr might be around for awhile. I have been to WDW at both times of years and not sure which I like better. I hear people rave about Halloween at DL, would love to see the decorations at Christmas but really would like to go on a trip to Disney and not have to freeze, the past two years I have gone to WDW in December and have frooze and had to wear a winter coat. Anyway, if anyone else has any ideas or suggestions that would be great. Also what all are they doing to the Disneyland Hotel?

The Disneyland Hotel is getting a mojor rehab. It will be done for 2012. It's getting newly styled rooms, some of the dining is redone. The interior couryard that contains the pool is getting completly redone, pools and all. While out of this it's going to be much the same hotel with much better pools.
