Hi!

From the title, you probably gathered that I am a POP Newbie!

We will arrive for our first stay on Friday, September 14th. Please help me with some questions I am freaking out over.

We are flying from DFW to MCO and arriving around 930 pm. We are planning on using DME. We are staying the 15th-21st, but our original ressie was for the 16-21st. Anyway, I tried to add a night but the resort was booked, so I had to add a night through Travelocity. POP told me they could not link the reservations.

So...if DME has our bags and we ask them to hold them for us, will they have to deliver them to the first room? Or would they hold them into we got into the second room?

Also, help me prioritize. I am traveling with my mom (60) and my daughter (2). What is the order of importance of my following desires? I dont' want to ask for too much, so I wanted to know what I should request and what I should just hope for.

I would like to stay in the same room for both reservations.
I would like to be in a first floor room because of the stroller.
I would like to be in the 50s, 60s, or 70s.

I've never stayed there before so I don't know which would be the most important for my party. I like the look of the 50s, 60s, and 70s, but the convenience of not having to switch rooms might outway that desire. Also, it is a pain to be on the second, third, or fourth floor with a stroller? Are the elevators busy? Are they air conditioned? Should I avoid anything above the first floor?

Thanks for all of your help. Our trip is just getting so close that I'm getting a little nervous!

don't even plan on being in the same room. You are using an outside vendor. that pretty much to me says you will have to move. epecially since Pop can't link with the outside vendor.

you have signed up for DME right?

when you get off the bus - it puts you at luggage service just tell them you want your luggage deliver to your WDW reservation - give them the information.

I would pack an overnight bag - maybe one you can take on the plane. and not enough try for your regular luggage until after you move the next day.

Pop is a big resort. Would go with an 2nd or higher floor. because Pop is so big noise is a problem for the first floor. Elevators work just fine at Pop.

I enjoy 50's lake side.

Hi! I also have a room only ressie for our first night at Pop before our package starts. I booked mine thru WDW travel, so I can't speak for your Travelocity ressie, but the CM I spoke with said he put a note on both my room only and package ressies that we would like to stay in the same room. He said it is not guaranteed, but there was a good chance that we would not have to move. He also told me to make sure I tell the CM at check-in that we would be switching to a package the next day and that they would do their best to keep us in the same room.

As far as ME goes, I spoke with them this morning because we haven't yet received our arrival docs (got our departure docs a couple weeks ago). She said since we had a late flight (arriving around 10:30pm), bell services would hold our bags until we called on Saturday morning for delivery. So, as long as you have everything you need for the first night in your carry-on, you can wait and have your ME luggage delivered in the morning. That way if you do have to change rooms, you can have it delivered to the second room.

As far as room requests go, please keep in mind that they cannot guarantee anything, but will try to meet them if possible. Based on what you've said, I would put your requests in this order:
1. Stay in same room for both ressies
2. Building location
3. Floor -- elevators are usually pretty good and as previous poster said, it can get noisy on the first floor, so you may actually like a higher floor.

Hope you have a great vacation!

You may want to post your ME question on the travel board, you may get better info. Our flight arrives at 9:30 pm, and we were advised (by people on that board) to retrieve our own luggage and THEN take the ME bus to our hotel. You avoid the whole "where is our bag and where is it going and when will I see it again" situation

OK - Pop veteran checking in here. Don't pick up you luggage and haul it with you on DME. Unless you check something that you just absolutely have to have right away. They will deliver your bags until 2:00 a.m....unless you request them to hold it. In February, my flight got delayed. I arrived at the resort at midnight instead of 9:30. I had packed a carryon with all my essentials. But, about 1:30, just as I was falling asleep, there was a knock on the door. Yep, they were delivering my bags.

Also, there is a decent chance that you won't have to move. Make sure you have both confirmation numbers when you check in. Even though, they can't link the ressies in advance, once you check in, they will be able to tag the second ressie to the first. You will have to go back to guest services to go through the process the next day and get room keys reissued though. Depending on what your plans are for your first day, try to do this early in the morning before th lines get long.

For room location, I would request first floor. At the end of a long day, I don't want to wait even a single minute for the elevator and my feet feel like a ton of bricks when climbing stairs. I like the backside of buildings 5 & 6 along Hourglass Lake. Nice and quiet - yet still not to far from the pool, food court, and buses.

Have you received your DME documents yet? If not, call DME directly to confirm your arrangements.

we stayed in the same room when we split up a resv,,you have to go to the front desk everyday..and bug them...we did it at pop and allstars..
