Hi All!
We just got back from WDW and we just joined the DVC! I have thought of some questions that I didn't think of before and hoped you guys could answer them:

1. I know you can 'bank' your points for the next year. But can you 'bank' one year and then borrow from the next year to have a total of 3 years points all in one year?

2. What are the kids programs like? and do you pay a fee to use the programs at the resorts or are they done the same as on the cruise (just considered part of the service)?

3. Is everyone HAPPY with their DVC membership? Any regrets? I have always steered clear of the idea of 'time shares'. But now here I am, a member of a time share.....never thought that would happen. But we just LOVE Disney and we find ourselves there almost every year anyway. And I would love to try out some of the other places too.

Thanks! So glad this forum is here. It is nice to know others who have been in the program for a long time.

To answer some of your questions, you can bank into the next year and then bought to have 3 years worth. Of course that means you don't have any point the 3rd year unless you borrow again. It can get tricky planning all of it. My children are adults and we never used the childrens activity plans. I would like to know that answer also. Planning ahead for the grandchildren!! We have never regreted buying into DVC. It is the best thing we ever did. The family vacations have left us with many great memories and my child still look forward to our trips there. It is very expensive, but we were used to taking trips that were expensive with the whole family-mother,grandmother,etc. If you want a cheaper way to go- DVC isn't it. We wanted the nicer side of vacations and DVC fits that bill. We have traded off to other locations several times and been very happy with all the trades. We have traded to the Plaza in NY, the Marriott Newport Beach in CA, and the hotel in Washington,DC (the name escapes me). We are OKW and Vero Beach owners. We have stayed at HH and are going for our first trip home to VB in May. Again, I know you will love it as much as our family has and welcome home.

Welcome Home!

You are exactly right with the banking/borrowing question. DVC can restrict these programs, but to date, have never done so.

The Children's programs vary from resort to resort, but some have a nominal charge to cover supply costs and others have no charges at all. Most DVC resorts will offer programs for "kids of all ages". There are craft programs, fishing, crabbing, painting, pool activities, shelling, tea parties, parades, cooking classes, etc.

Most regret not joining sooner!

Enjoy the ride!

West,

Welcome to the club! Hope you had a great vacation!

I have to say that we love DVC. We love it so much that we recently added on for the 4th time while on a cruise in April. We are now the proud owners of points at Vero, HH, OKW and BCV!
My Mother, Uncle and sister-in-law are also members!

I have to admit, the cruise was one of the BIG selling 'points' to us :p . We are booked for our 3rd cruise this September, and can see us doing a lot more in the future.

I was dissappointed to hear that they have a $75 'transfer' fee for the cruise just as if you were trading with another time share, but the CM we talked to said they might be changing that in the future (we can hope so at least).

My kids are already asking when we can go on our first DVC trip! The rooms look SO nice! But this year's vacations are already planned, so we are banking our points for next year's Dreams!

I am SO glad to hear people are so happy with DVC that they are adding more points. That says a lot! Thanks! I think we are going to really enjoy our trips.

We, too, love our DVC and just added on for the second time in 2 years. We own at BWV and BCV. The question about banking and borrowing has been answered. I can only answer about the children's programs at VB. With our nieces, we did the cel painting, mini-golf and the campfire. There was a charge for both the cel painting and mini-golf but not the campfire. The golf fee was pretty nominal but we thought the cel painting was a little expensive but don't remember the exact costs. The kids loved it, however. Congratulations and Welcome Home!

Welcome Home!!

We haven't used any of the kid's programs yet. We are going to HHI this August so I think we'll be using them there.

We currently own at BWV and are very happy with our purchase. As soon as BCV is available to NY residents (grumble grumble) we will be doing a 50 point add on there.

The rooms are awesome and I love being part of the Disney magic with space to breathe.
