We were so fortunate to buy 285 points at BWV - we really did NOT want SSR - My kids are still very, very small (with big obsessions) and we learned that SSR does not have sound proofed windows - even on the windows that face the Pleasure Island fireworks, so remember that when booking (!)

Anyway, being new to DVC I have a couple of questions...
Do you get your temporary cards with your closing documents?

When booking at the 11 month window, is it by month or by day - in other words, we would like to do April 27 2005 - do I need to call May 1 2004 or May 27 2004?

can you go to the restaurants in Epcot after the park closes without a ticket? (I read the DVC benefits poll and it reminded me)

One last question - does anybody have recommendations for very quiet rooms at BWV (2br)? My kids go to bed around 7:30!

Thanks!!!

> I had not read that anywhere yet, in fact, the SSR FAQ on this site seemed to indicate just the opposite and no one could have stayed there yet to prove or disprove it, so what is your source?

> I did with my closing papers from Disney, for SSR. You did not say for sure, but if you bought BWV, I assume it was a resale, so not sure when or how you get that information, but I seemed to have read that the transfer has to be made and then you get it.

> For either the 11 month or 7 month booking window, you can begin to call on the same date up to 11 or 7 months in advance.
For my July 11th trip, I called day by day starting December 11th.

> No, all theme park restaurants require admission to the park, maybe except the Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom that has an entrance both inside and outside the park entrance.

> Can't help on this one. Wow, 7:30, I see why you need a 2 BDR

Our guide, Diane Henry, told us they had made no provisions for soundproofing at SSR - now this was 10/03 so maybe things changed. she was steering us to BCV since we were worried about the fireworks noise.

You actually start booking 7 or 11 months prior to your checkout date, not checkin date (unless you're booking day by day).

POOHJ80..

I will be just leaving SSR when you get there. I'll be sure to leave some pixie dust for you

Cool Lori!

I am waiting patiently for the trip reports after the resort opens!

If you are looking for quiet at BWV, I have two recommendations:

*For Preferred View - Garden/Pool, ask for a room in the quiet pool/Community Hall area. Most guests use the Luna Park (main pool with the slide) so there are seldom very many people in this pool. Note that these rooms are relatively far from the elevators - if you will be using strollers or traveling with wheelchairs, this may be an inconvenient location. However, there are less people in the hallways (early in the morning and late at night can be a problem). We seldom hear noise from outside (except for the booms of the EPCOT fireworks), but we always hear the noise from the hallways.

*For standard views (my favorite), ask for a room across from the bus stop or one near the tennis courts. These are quiet locations, but again, relatively far from the elevators.

Best wishes -

The window is eleven months from your check-out date.

Book as soon as you can and have fun! ::yes::
