Questions from a 1st timer

Hi everyone,

We are looking to rent points for an early December stay. I plan to inquire about availability within the next week or so. We are looking for a Studio room. I'm looking for recommendations on resorts. My wife has some mobility issues, which are getting better, but a really long walk from our room to the car/bus/boat, or back, especially at the end of the day, isn't really an option. She's a trooper, but there are limits.

I've watched videos and looked at maps. I'd love a Savannah view at AKL, and have read that I can park underground at Kidani Village. How close will we be to the car, and is Jambo House an option for a Studio? My 2nd choice would be Boardwalk Inn, because of the boat to Epcot. Will it be a long walk to the boat or bus stop? Also, any opinions on OKW would be great. We will be a party of 3 adults, including my SIL. Is OKW the only resort with 2 beds in a Studio room? I can sleep anywhere, including a bunk or pull out couch, but a bed would be preferred...lol

I know my choices are dependent on availability, but any input on these or other resorts would be appreciated.

If you are thinking about this coming December you are already too late. Most every DVC resort is already full. Early December is the most popular time for DVC owners and it fills up quickly. You may find a room at Saratoga Springs, but you need to move on it quickly. AKL is full as is Boardwalk.

Sorry... good luck getting what you want. You may find studios available for a cash reservation. But they aren't cheap. And yes, OKW is the only resort with 2 queens in the studio. All others have one queen and a full-size fold-out sofa.

Depending on what dates you are looking for you might very well find availability at OKW too.

We will be there Dec 3-9 (Sun-Sat). I'll book a Mod and wait on a pin code or discount to come out if no DVC is available.

DVC starts booking 11 months prior to check in date.

You would be better off trying a cash reservation at Jambo House if your wife has mobility issues. Kidani only has 1 table service restaurant, and if you want more dinning options you have to head over to Jambo by bus or walking. My wife and I are fast walkers and we can do it in under 10 minutes, but it became a pain after the fourth or fifth time walking over from Kidani to Jambo to grab something to eat. Plus the buffet at Boma is awesome.

Also, if you do choose Kidani request lower floor, next to one of the elevators.

Yeah, Jambo books before Kidani, and you're asking about one of the highest volume DVC weeks of the year. DVC popularity doesn't follow park popularity in a direct way. You're within the 7 month window, which means you're about 4 months too late for that week.
