Hi,
My DS, 23 is going to work in Epcot for 1 year starting mid-March. He's all set to go except for health insurance. He's looked at various quotes on line but the prices and coverage vary widely. They don't cover the 'big' tests like MRIs and some don't even cover x-rays. For anyone who has done this recently, who did you get insurance with? He only needs it for 4 months and then Disney provides coverage for the rest of the year.
Also - he's crossing at Fort Erie or Queenston-Lewiston and has to take his immigration papers into the office. Is the actual paperwork itself time-consuming (I know it's the luck of the draw as to how long you have to wait to get to speak to an agent).
We're all very excited about this, but now that it's only 2 weeks out, Mom is a bit nervous.;)
Thanks for your help.
Nancy

CAA is a good insurance company to go for, I think a lot of people from my program last year had it!

As for the immigration paper, it didn't take long at all. That being said, I was on the J1 Visa which is different from the year-long program.

Hope that helped!

I also used CAA back in the day (1997) and I believe my sister used it when she was on the program in 2003. I flew from Pearson when I was on the program so pre cleared Customs and I don't remember it taking too long but I would allow yourself lots of extra time since you never know how busy they might be.

We are going way back to 1991 so not sure I'm much help! My Mom got my insurance through her work at London Life. I crossed the border at Detroit, went into the building, waited 5 minutes in line. The custom guy looked at my paper work and ID, gave it a stamp and I was on my way, total time about 20 minutes at the most. World has changed abit since then so not sure if the process is the same. I was on a J1 Visa for a 10 month contract.
Good Luck!
Lisa

My DD went last summer from May - Aug. I bought her RBC Travel/Medical Insurance and the coverage was excellent.:thumbsup2

I second Minnie's answer, RBC Insurance all the way for my DD last summer.
