Questions for Disney Travelocity Users

Can you keep the travelocity reservation and just cancel the tickets and buy thru Undercover tourists? I am considering this because I want to use FP+. I wonder how long it takes to get the refund.

Edited to add: Never mind. I just looked and with the travelocity discount plus ebates my tickets were $260 cheaper than UT. I guess I will just have to suck it up and miss out on FP+. Is there any chance that there will be FP+ times when we check in?

In most cases, the travelocity tix are non-refundable...or I certainly would have done that! I was wondering the same thing about FP+ times, but I was just reading another thread and it looks like choices are limited. This can either be good or bad...either the times will all be taken.... or, maybe they are only offering so many choices up so far in advance then more will open later... we can hope, right? :goodvibes

I am not sure that my resort will even be eligible for the FP+ testing so I am happy with the extra discount I got on Travelocity. Once the MyMagic+ is fully rolled out, not sure I would do it this way but for now, I like the extra 13% savings.

I did need to make a couple of changes to what I booked. Mostly because I got in a hurry and wasn't careful enough when I was checking out. Disney customer service is much easier to deal with. Travelocity reps have been very nice but quite frankly, every time I call them, they need to call Disney so it takes a while. But like I said, it was my fault for not being more careful (for example, I only listed one person on my reservation instead of two).

I'll report back as to any issues with the tickets once I get back.

I posted on another thread that I had also used Travelocity for our reservation and tickets. We are eligible for FP+ and somehow my tickets show up in MDE (I don't know if it was something I did or they did that automatically)and I have been able to make FP+ picks.

Guess what? My tickets do not show up on the screen but I can now order magic bands and do FP selections. I am so excited.

Please do share!!! How did you do it? Did you get an email or letter about it? Did you just sign into MDE? When do you check in? I would love to know if you can help me figure out how to do it!!!! We check in Oct. 5th at POR.
thanks!

edit: THANK YOU! I was able to customize magic bands, but still can't figure out how to get FASTPASS+ to work....any suggestions?

I'm so happy you were able to get the Magic Bands!:woohoo:
Clearly Disney has the 3rd party vendor tickets worked into their system, too bad they didn't tell you that when you called them.
PS-I got my refund from Travelocity for just my tickets. But I would have been just as happy if they had been able to alter the dates.

Hi :)! Glad to hear you got your refund!! That would have been my next worry if I was in your position...glad that's done for you!
The frustrating thing in the whole magic band issue is that I called tech support about an hour and a half ago. That CM told me no way...no magic bands or fast passes for travelocity tix. I got on the computer myself and tried a "trick" I read about on disboards (click on modify check in and just go through it even though you don't need to modify anything, and voila! the option comes up immediately to customize the bands)...and the CM told me I couldn't get them. I just got off the phone with another CM who was trying to help me get the fastpass thing to work. She seemed more knowledgeable. She said I won't be able to do fastpass+ now bc of the inability to link the tix. However, she said I will definitely be able to do it for my stay once I hand in the voucher (which again, is different than the earlier CM said...both from tech support). This CM said she knows for sure bc she did it during her recent stay. I'm so excited to finally have something work :goodvibes.

Regarding tickets through Travelocity - can we show the voucher at check in to get tickets linked to our MBs or do we have to go to guest relations at the park? What about at DTD?

Any tips on how to get Travelocity to refund the tickets? I've called them several times, including to their Us-based folks, and they absolutely refuse to do it.

The tickets I bought were refundable until Sept 20th. So when they couldn't guarantee that I would be able to use them for the first half of my split stay instead of the second half, they offered to refund them. I would have been satisfied if they could have attached them to my arrival date, but they said they couldn't.

Whether or not your tickets are refundable depends on when you bought them and when you are going. It is different for everybody.
