Questions for Bounceback Rate Pros

Dh and I will be at WDW in November. I'm crossing my fingers that there will be a BB rate being offered for 2011. If there is, I have two questions:

1) Is there a limit on the number of rooms you can book? We are traveling with family in May 2011 and will need 3 rooms total. Will they allow us to book all 3 rooms on that rate, even if dh and I are only in one of those rooms?

and

2) Can you book more than one trip with the BB rate code? We'd be looking again for that May 2011 trip, and then dh and I hope to return for a few nights in October 2011 for our 20th anniversary.

Thanks for any help! :goodvibes

I'm not sure about the number of rooms you can book but I know they'll let you book two visits. We did that when we were there at Xmas. I booked bouncebacks for July/August and December of this year.

Yay! So that's good news on one front! Thank you! :goodvibes

Sorry, but there may not be good news on the other front. At least in my experience they will only allow you to book one bounceback room per adult on the current reservation and that adult must be the lead on the bounceback reservation. So if just you and DH are there in November and they offer a bounceback, they will only allow you to book two rooms...one with you as the primary guest in room one and DH as the primary guest in room two. You can list additional family members in each room as occupancy allows. Not sure if you can change around the guest info and put you and DH in the same room later (my guess is no), but I know you have to book it that way and you can shuffle who stays in which room when you arrive. Hope that makes sense.

OK, that's what I figured would be the case, and it totally makes sense. It's a bummer, though, because the rest of the family is insisting on staying at the same resort but doesn't want to pay for a deluxe. :rolleyes1

The other posters are correct. You can book as many dates as you want, but only one room/adult that is there during the current stay. When we were there in Dec I booked the 35% off bounceback for three different trips in 2010 (May, Oct, and Dec). When I was there this past Sept/Oct I also booked a free dining bounceback for Sept 2010. Because I was solo that Sept trip, I was told that I could book only one room for the bounceback, however in Dec there were three adults in the room and I was told I could book three rooms if I needed them (which I did not:rotfl:).

Does anybody know if I book a BB ofer when we are there in June can we change the dates later if we need to? What if the dates that we need to change to are into 2011?

yes you can change the dates, resorts as long as they still have rooms etc :)

Hmmm JMO, changing dates within the same BB offer are one thing, but going from one BB offer to another BB offer might be tricky :cutie:

There will probably not be any 2011 dates to choose from on your June BB offer (if same as current BB, dates are only up to December 2010). So, for an example, say you book some dates in December just to "hold" your BB offer. Then you start watching the BB's as they open and expire to try and see what dates they have for you to choose from to see if you can change your dates.

So maybe there is a new BB in August that is for Free Dining for certain dates in August - Sept/Oct 2011. You call and try to switch your room discount BB to one of those FD BB dates - I'm just not sure they would do that (go from room discount to Free Dining). Anyone else here know? :confused3

Or say you don't want to go during FD 2011, you'll probably have to wait until the BB after that one to see if that one has some 2011 dates to choose from (which usually opens in Oct/Nov, and is usually for a room discount again). So just be prepared for a little wait to see if it will all work out for you

Good luck and if you try it, let us know what happens! :goodvibes

a related question: we are going in May and already have a trip booked for November. While there in May, could I apply the BB offer to the November reservation or would I have to book a new one and cancel the other? The November reservation is through a TA so that might complicate things???

JMO again, but I think if you didn't have it booked through a TA they probably could have modified your original res to a BB one (based on availability). But since you did book with a TA, you can always try to modify - and maybe it can be done under these circumstances - but they usually won't talk with you on a TA res, and will tell you that you have to contact your TA to make any changes.

So you might have to make a new BB res while you're there, then cancel the original one with your TA when you get home. Then you could always give your TA the new BB res number if you want them to "take over" that BB res for you. (or not, if you want to be in control :cutie:)

For example, I've read lots of posts here where DISers booked a BB res while at WDW, then went home and allowed their AAA agents to assume the BB res so they could get other AAA perks along with their BB.

Call extension 8844 from your resort room before you check out and see what they say - and be sure and take your pricing from your original quote so you have it with you and can make sure you'll be saving $$$ with a BB - especially if you have to pay any cancellation fees to your TA for the first res :thumbsup2
