Questions/confusion on the QS Dining Plan and Freestyle Mug

Trying to gather my thoughts as we're considering the QS plan for a couple days while we are at Universal. It seems like it could be a good value for us, or at least break even but convenient.

We are planning to get the freestyle mug as well - seems like it's the same price to get the plan with the mug each day as it would be to get it with the mug once and then without for additional days, but re-activating the mug. We don't need a ton of mugs...

Some questions have come to mind...

1) The Terms and Conditions on the web site has a footnote for the plan with the mug saying "Coca-Cola freestyle® souvenir cup is a separate purchase. " - this seems to imply that you still have to purchase the mug? Then what comes with the plan? Just the ability to fill it? The PDF also seems to indicate a footnote with "You can upgrade your Dining Plan – Quick Service beverage to a Coca-Cola freestyle® Souvenir Cup^...." - but there is no matching "^" footnote...

2) Someone said in a thread (which of course I can't find again( that if you get the plan with the mug, then you don't get the additional drink per day. Is that true?

3) Not related to the mug, but are there entrees that are excluded from the plan at the various locations? Some menus on the official site list menu items with "UD" for Universal Dining", but the two Harry Potter locations do not list ANYTHING with "UD" - but they are listed as participating.

Thanks in advance...

I can't speak to the footnote, but here's what I saw in the park and took to be the way the plan would work:

You purchase the dining plan with mug for 1 day. Universal hands you a plastic card for a meal credit, a snack credit and a mug credit. You walk up to a shack that sells the mugs (there are several throughout the park) and hand them your card saying you'd like to use your mug credit. They grab a mug, activate it for the day and fill it with the beverage of your choice. Your mug is now active for the day, and you have cashed in your mug credit leaving your meal and snack credits alone on the card.

The next day, all you'd need to do is pay to activate the mug the first time you use it and you're good for the day. The first time we did this either we had a generous or new cast member as our mug had 2 days of activation on it.

I can't speak to the meals, though I would think that the plan purchased with the mug would not include the drink as you've already got the drink.

I know the Harry Potter areas don't list UD due to licensing, (Rowling didn't want that UD sticker to take away from the feeling of ordering your fish and chips with Harry) They're still available even though they aren't marked.
