I have used Florida Tours a few times and it has been "O.K." That is all I can say. I would appreciate any other suggestions anyone has. This will be round trip from MCO to POFQ. I don't care for ME. It takes too long. And taxi's cost a lot more that the Town cars from the airport.

Now the questions... Where are the taxi's when exiting the AK? Is the walk as far as the bus?

And where are they when exiting the monorail at TTC? Would it be better to take the resort monorail from MK or Epcot and get a cab at one of the resorts?

When we take a town car we use Tiffany and always have great service.

I must add though that when we stay onside (vs the swan dolphin) in my experience using DME has always been quicker than a towncar service due to the luggage delivery feature. Just saying because you said DME takes too long.

I can't help with your specific taxi questions as I have never taken one from AK or TTC. I do know that you can get one quickly from the resorts!

Not that much longer.
Here are my various times, as I remember them.

1. DME....anywhere from 60-80 mins,average of 70 mins vast majority of the time, gate to resort.
2. car service...carryon only, 45 mins
3. car service...checked bags....60 mins
3. Mears shuttle...carryon only....80 mins

I have had it take less time with a car service, but, I'm not sure that addtl 15-20 mins is worth $60, plus tip.

I guess it all depends on what you are looking for in a car service. I have used Fl Tours before, with okay service. I have used Tiffany as well, better service. But, there is always the chance for less than wonderful service, depending on the driver.

As far as cabs at AK go....at least as far as the buses, but haven't really noticed before. Haven't seen any in the bus area, so maybe they are off in the parking lot area.
You can always just take the monorail, or walk, to the CR and get a cab there. But, there should be some at the TTC. Someone there can direct you. If you take the monorail to Epcot, you are going to have to trudge all the way through Epcot to get to those resorts.

You read my mind.....I was going to suggest getting a rental car but forgot to. Thanks for bringing it up. That may well be the best idea.
