My husband and I are planning a vow renewal and we would like to have it at Disney.

We never had an actual wedding when we got married, so I think we're going to go for a Wishes type vow renewal. I've been checking out the Disney Weddings site but I have to admit that after lurking here for a few weeks and reading journals and such, I'm more confused now than I ever was about what I like and what I want in my VR. So many wonderful options and ideas!

I see beautiful pictures of venues and receptions on the Disney Weddings site but then I get confused because while I like so many different styles.

So I guess my question to the experienced Disney Brides and Brides to be out there is: How much assistance should I expect from my Disney planner? Will they guide me to help me in my decision making process or it is expected that I have all of those things decided when I meet with/talk with my planner?

Some other questions I have would be:
How did you decide what colors to go with? I'd love deep red rose bouquet but I really loved all of the examples of reception tables with beautiful, bright pink and orange flowers. Does that mean I should not have a red rose bouquet? How did you decide location? So many places look wonderful to me!

I haven't set anything up yet, I'm just wondering what to expect....:confused3

Hi! :wave2:

You definitely don't have to have everything decided when you talk with you meet/talk with your planner. The level of assistance they offer depends on how much you need. If you go in with an idea of exactly what you want, they will help you achieve it or suggest alternatives for things that can't be accomplished within your budget. If you go in with very few ideas, they can offer suggestions and show you pictures of past weddings to get you started.

Not necessarily... your colors could be a mix of reds, pinks and oranges if you want! I think every couple should go with whatever colors speak to them and not worry about getting the perfect trio of complementary bright and neutral colors just because that's what the magazines tell you to do. :thumbsup2

How did you decide location? So many places look wonderful to me!

There are a lot of factors to consider. For us it was simple: If we were going all the way to Florida to get married, we'd dang well better be getting married inside a Disney park! :rotfl:

Things you might consider are:

- Do you want to be indoors or outdoors?

- What time of day will the event take place? Some locations can only be used at certain times.

- What time of year will it be? Will the weather dictate that you need to be indoors?

- How many guests will you have? Many locations have capacity minimums/maximums.

- Do you envision a traditional reception with a DJ and dancing, or do you want something more casual?

- How important is decor? Would you prefer a location that has its own theming or would you rather add decor to a blank canvas?

- Where do you guess most of your guests will stay? Transportation to and from the ceremony and reception can take a big bite out of your budget.

- Are there any spots at WDW that hold a special significance for you?

These are just some ideas to get you started. We started by writing down all our ideas of our dream wedding and what it would include, and then arranged them and pared them down to what was do-able. This might help focus your planning.

Hope this helps!
