I'm a little confused about the YES program. I've read about it and am very interested in getting one together for our trip. We will be there mid-June 2011(11-17). Do I need to wait to see if they will have open enrollment since we are not a home school group? If not, how does one go about setting up a session? Do you have to be staying onsite to participate? Does it cost anything extra besides the park tickets? TIA!

I'm not an expert on all things YES but here is what I can tell you about program we did in August : it was during an "Open or Individual Enrollment" time so we did not have to be part of a group, we just reserved the program we wanted & an adult had to attend with each child.

Also, during an open-individual enrollment time you can get discounted park tickets for all the people in your family that you are travelling with but during a Regular enrollment time you will only be able to get discounted park tickets for each child attending & that child's accompanying adult. And if you want to set up a group I think I remember the minimum number needed being 10.

No, you do not have to be staying at an onsite resort to participate in YES.

There's a great thread here with lots of info on YES, will try to find it and post link here. I think I remember reading on it that there was Open enrollment during June 2010 so it is possible maybe it will be offered in June 2011; although it is still more than 6 months away you can check Disney's YES site or call or email them to ask; when I had called to ask about open-individual enrollment for August 2010 at first they did not have the schedule finalized so they took my email address at sent me the schedule when it was available.

ETA : here's link I mentioned above

Best wishes on your planning :goodvibes

Thanks for the info, 5forDiz, we're planning on going Aug 2011 and I wonder how far ahead of time you knew about the Aug 2010 schedule?
