We are going to go to Disney next September for the week of Labor Day. I was wondering if anyone that has been there the week of Labor Day previously could give me some info. I was wondering how jammed it is the week of Labor Day. Is the entire week horribly crowded or just Labor Day Weekend itself & then clears out the rest of the week?

Many of us locals just stay the weekend or come for a day. Last year was empty due to hurricanes. Past years have been pretty crowded.

The weekend will be busy, then the crowds pretty much disappear during the week. Magic Kingdom will close early on the 9th and 10th for Night of Joy.

I'm hoping it will be ok with the crowds. we are checking in on saturday b4 labor day and staying the whole week and checking out the following saturday and hoping the crowds will just be less and less as the week goes on! :)

last year the hurricanes made the place vacant. We are going back this year and expect a light crowd but not as great as last year. It is historically the lowest attendance week of the year.

I am also going that week - I was wondering what the Night of Joy does to the crowds. I am planning not to go to Magic Kingdom on Saturday, it will be a mad house.

We went that week in 01, and it was impossible on Sunday, you literally could not get into fantasyland, it was just shoulder to shoulder. Hated it. We skipped monday, and the rest of the week was awesomely empty, walked onto everything. Of course, the second week we were there was 9/11, and the parks got REALLY empty, almost too much so on the 12th and 13th. Never thought I'd complain about there being too few people, but it was a little strange.

We have been going in September for about 12 years now. We drive down Labor Day weekend and check in on Sunday. We stay two weeks.
I think once you get past Labor Day, the crowds are light.

People complain about the park hours being shorter. But with the lighter crowds, you don't spend a great deal of time waiting in lines. So the shorter operating hours really don't effect you too much.
