Questions About Wait Lists

I have some questions about wait lists:

- Are they filled during the day as rooms become available or are the filled perhaps in a batch once each day

- If filled during once a day in a batch. would it be possible for a new caller to snag a room that just became available prior to the wait list batch routine being run

- Do you think the rooms are filled by an automated routine, or manually by a cast member?

- Finally..this may or not be related to wait lists, but did you ever experience a request for a reservation where the cast member has to put you on hold for awhile...then comes back to get you that room you needed. What is actually going on there?

Thanks...I know these questions might seem odd, but I am curious exactly how the wait list is filled.

I don't know the answer here, buy my guess would be the computer slowing down or something along that line. When I worked in pharmacy often our computer would slow to a crawl (network stuff I think) and we'd just be sitting there looking at nothing. If I were on the phone with someone I would have them hold rather than sit there with dead silence between us since it is just awkward.

It could be something else, I would just imagine that at least some of the time it is simply a computer thing.

it should to be at the end of the day and yes you could call during the day and get your days before it got to the wait list.

I got told that this was fixed and now the wait list has priority.

I don't know for sure.

lots of time - if you are calling at the 60 day time period or less - then remember that CRO also has the DVC inventory. So even if a MS sees it as being available they must call CRO to make sure. A few days before I think they are also required to call the resort itself.

I think it is pass time for DVC to upgrade it computers. but that doesn't always work - sure the computer are definitely quicker and run faster - but management thinks it is their job to make everyone slower so they probably require more reports and that can take time away from MS.
