Hi,
I am completely new to all this and are planning for a VR on DCL is 2 years. Please could you answer a few questions for me!

If you are doing a 3 day cruise, can you choose to do your ceremony any day?
Can you choose to do your ceremony before you leave port and invite non sailing guests? If so how many?
Can you choose to do your ceremony the day you are at CC but do it on the ship?
I read that you have rights to take pictures at the resorts if you are having a disney fairytale wedding, does having your VR on the ship count, could you get dressed up and take pictures before or after you get on the ship?

Thanks for your help!

Good questions!! I don't know the answer to them, but hopefully someone else will come on. Truthfully, if you want something, i think Disney will do it's best to give it to you!!

Just got back from our VR on the Wonder...I will try to help!
If you are doing a 3 day cruise, can you choose to do your ceremony any day? I gave them my sailing date and they told me what was available.. I THINK they are done on Port Days (unless you have a CC location)
Can you choose to do your ceremony before you leave port and invite non sailing guests? If so how many? I have never heard of having it in Port but I do know visitors are not allowed on the ship..having just got back from a B2B..the day they are in Port is VERY VERY busy on the ship for turnover..i don't think they can really do a ceremony that day
Can you choose to do your ceremony the day you are at CC but do it on the ship? Again..I think they do it on Friday in Nassau unless on the island

I didn't do a Land/Sea package..so I don't know if they do anything once you get back to the hotelThanks for your help!

I think the others were answered, but I asked about this one. Since yes, you are a DFTW even though on DCL you are able to have a photoshoot done (i.e. Magic Kingdom in your gown before the park opens, for the pretty penny of $1000, might even be more now).

Anybody can take pictures at the WDW resorts - you don't have to have been married there. And anybody can do a honeymoon shoot inside the parks in street clothes, during operating hours. It's just the in-park photo shoot that PJ Stevens described that is only open to Disney wedding couples.

For a resort photo shoot, you can either do it with a PhotoPass photographer (407-934-4004) for $125 or with a professional Disney photographer (407-827-5099) for $310. OR you can hire your own outside photographer to do a resort shoot. :thumbsup2

Thanks! So I just want to make sure-If I want to take pictures in my bridal wear in the parks, I have to pay the 1000 for their photographer. But otherwise can't take photos in the park in bridal wear just regular clothes. If I want to wear my bridal wear at the resort then pay for the photopass photographer or hire private. My thoughts are that I want to have the ceremony on the ship but don't want to miss out on the in WDW photos which look amazing.

That is correct. :goodvibes I know some brides who aren't getting married that day at that resort feel uncomfortable taking pictures there in their wedding gowns, but there is no Disney policy that prohibits it. Besides, how do they know you didn't just have a wedding on property?

I am getting amrried on the Cruise in November so I will try to help!

If you are doing a 3 day cruise, can you choose to do your ceremony any day?

If you are doing a Castaway Cay Wedding it is the day you are at Castaway Key, other then that it is done while at port in the Bahamas (3 or 4 day cruise)

Can you choose to do your ceremony before you leave port and invite non sailing guests? If so how many?

This is not possible, Non cruisers are not allowed on the ship.

Can you choose to do your ceremony the day you are at CC but do it on the ship?

Offically this is a no...But I have hear of other brides doing it.

You can have pictures taken at the hotels and resort in your wddding gown, and you are allowed to have the Magic Kingdom or other Park shoot ($1000 for the first park and $300 to do two).

Hope this helps and I hope you do choose a Disney Cruise Line VR

only 100 dollars to have pictures taken at MK? or in addition to the 1000 package? sorry that I am asking so many questions!!!

I would double check about doing a resort shoot in your wedding gown, especially with an outside photographer. I know Disney tries REALLY hard to make sure no two brides see one another in their gowns. If you are there doing a shoot and a DFTW bride comes through for her ceremony or photos, there might be problems. That is why they have set time frames so this doesn't happen. So I would definately check this out.

I would definitely use a Disney photographer or the photopass photographer, I agree I wouldn't want to assume that the time I pick is ok. I am very excited about getting the picture priviledges. I will probably hire the Disney photographer for MK pictures and the photopass photographer for the resort photos. I will also need pictures for the actual ceremony. Can you hire the Shutters staff or do you have to do the package with a Disney photographer on the cruise?

really?? We ran into another couple who had their wedding the same day as ours..she and I were in the spa at the same time and then laughed when we were walking past them on deck during both our photo shoots

Shutters is the photographer...you must do a photo package to get the photographer..there is a new VR photopackage for $175 that includes photos and photographer..but I am not sure if it will be available when you do your VR..it is BRAND NEW and sounds like a testing

There is a VR thread here with lots of information!! Lots of past and current VR Brides posting pictures and information

I actually arranged to meet another bride on my wedding day on PURPOSE :rotfl: I think only DFTW freaks out about brides seeing each other on their wedding day - some of us think it's cool! ;)

Many Brides want it to appear as if it's THIER day and do not want to see each other so even if you don't mind, I would still be careful and that's why DFTW is concerned about it. They also try hard to keep brides separate so that it doesn't appear to be a line of brides getting married like a chapel in Las Vegas!
