I have been to Disney World several times over the past ten years. This will be our first visit to the parks in March. Are the water parks open then?
How crowded are the parks? What is the weather like? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi! We've gone twice during the first week in March. Spring Breaks usually start the 2nd or 3rd week. We found low crowds during the week, but saw a huge increase when weekend hit (luckily, we were leaving then). As for weather, you really never know what you'll get. The first time we went, it was pretty cold for the first half of the week. I didn't feel that I had packed enough warm clothes. I was glad it warmed up for the end of our trip. The second trip, the weather was absolutely perfect..mid 80's and sunny.

I have never been to the water parks, but it seems like they are open year round.

Yes, at least one of the water parks will be open. We spent 8 days in Disney in January & went to BB twice during our trip.

We went one year during the end of February thru the first week of March and really loved it! Went to Blizzard Beach and felt like we had the park to ourselves as it was a little cool by local standards but tropical to us Oregonians! Crowds were light and weather was great (no rain).

Sounds great! Hopefully we can get a little bit of warm weather that week.
We have always gone in June, and suffered the torrential rains, heat, and humidity. Thanks for the help!

March is perfect for walking around, but I would not get the kids hopes up about swimming. Yes, the pools are heated, but the air when you are standing in line at a WP may be very cool. Do you swim at home in March?? It really depends on where you are from and what you consider warm! Yes, the water parks will be open and crowds should be moderate. Have fun!

we went end of feb/beg. march one time and in the middle of the week a cold front came in. SO half our vacation pic.'s are in shorts and the other half in sweaters. It's almost like we went on 2 differnt trips

I did post in Post #3 that we've been in January & had a great time. But be warned, while we were there in January, a lifeguard at the lazy river (that water was cold) at BB assured me that the lazy river is NOT heated. She even asked me where I got the idea that it was.

Thanks everyone! My brother is going with us in March, and he has never been. If it is too cold, we will just skip the water park day. Does everything at the parks operate normally? Fireworks, parades, etc.? I am from Central TX where the heat and humidity can get pretty bad. Even so, Florida's feels twice as bad in June. For me, 50 degrees is cold. I would never make it up north where they actually get snow! :)
