I have not yet been to Animal Kingdom and next Tuesday DH & I will be going for 1/2 day in the morning. I plan on arriving right at opening time, riding Dinosaur, getting FP for Kilimanjaro Safari, riding Kali River Rapids and & see Maharajah Jungle Trek and then using the FP for Kilimanjaro Safari and finally seeing an 11:40 showing of Lion King, then back to resort for a lunch break. Park opens at 9:00--is seeing all that stuff by noon too ambitious? Anyone know how fast those Kilimanjaro FP's run out? I am wondering if I should head to the back of the park 1st and see Dinosaur on the way out? All the attractions I want to visit are at opposit corners of the park! Any tips from those who have been there before would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!!!

That might be a bit ambitious. I have found that the slower I take it in Animal Kingdom, the more fun I have. If all you want is the rides, you have enough time to ride them. If you want to find the true gems of this park, slow down and walk the animal trails.

Depends on what you want to do most. Jamming all of that in before noon might be tough, especially since you have a time already for Lion King. BUT, since it's a Tuesday, it might be doable.

First thing I'd do is head directly to the Safari and get my fastpass. Then I'd go wait in line for the Kali River rapids, or go wait in line for Dinosaur, which ever you want to do more. Once you finish that, then head over to Safari... then it will probably be time for Lion King.

And the other reason you want to get the FP immediately upon entering the park is so that it doesn't run into your 11:40 show...sooner you get the FP, the sooner the return time will be.

Okay, so I did this last year and AK is hard to figure out... I'll give you a sample of what we did... (sans the times...I don't remember them...)

Grabbed a Fastpass for the Safari, then went over to Camp Minnie-Mickey to see Pocahontas Animal Training and FOLK, (they were right after each other), went on the Kiliminjaro Safaris and then went through the trails...saw Tough To Be A Bug, and headed over to Asia to Kali River. When we were done it was only 1115AM... Then we went on the Maharajah Jungle Trek and saw Flights of Wonder... Now it was about 1:30PM or so... the rest of the day we spent looking at all the animals and going to Rafiki's Planet Watch...It wasn't until 4:30 after the parade that we rode Dinosaur...it was pretty much dead by the end of the day. This is the way we figured it out.

Oh, and one thing I forgot to mention...FOLK gets filled up very quickly...That's why I suggest doing the earliest show when the park is so crowded. You will be glad you did.

We have found in the past that sometimes the Safari ride's regular line was just as quick as grabbing a fast pass and waiting until later. First thing in the morning we've been on with just a 5-10 minute wait if we do it first. We've done FP's and even had to stay in that line 15 minutes. Just a thought!

Thank you so much for the input!

I guess we'll do the safari, kali rapids, and jungle trek 1st since that is what we most want to see. These boards are so helpful! :sunny:

The thing to remember with what you are planning in regards to AK is the distance between the attractions. It isn't really huge, but if you are rushing from one to another can wear you out quickly! I would estimate it is about a 10 minute stroll between each of those attractions you mentioned. I say stroll, I am sure you could do it quicker.
