We booked a trip but need to make sure we can use the tickets before deciding to keep the reservation. DD is going in September with 3 friends and booked the free dining package. She will need to upgrade her 4 day PH to a DVC AP while there. Last time she bought and AP I sent a copy of my license as well as a copy of my DVC card with her. As long as she has this proof again will she be able to do this? Also, two of the others in the room already have AP's. Can we reassign those PH's to DH and I who are going in December? We will want to upgrade those PH's to DVC AP's in Dec as well.

1. If it worked before, it should work again. Just hope the CM is cooperative.
2. Yes.
3. That'll work.

Is there another way for an adult child not traveling with the DVC member to get the DVC AP onsite that you know of? She has had DVC AP's going back at least 5 yrs now.

Allowing that kind of thing (upgrades to DVC AP without the DVC member present) is an exception and not the rule. If the CM goes back and checks notes and sees that it's been done in the past, she may be refused the upgrade.

That was my reasoning, too.
The file would show that it had been allowed in the past.

But children living in the same home as the DVC member are allowed to purchase DVC AP's. When we do this online there is no proof needed. I'm just confused as to why it is different in person.

They are allowed to have a DVC AP if they live in the same household as the member, but according to DVC's policies, the member is required to be present for the purchase (if buying in person) or activation (if bought online) of DVC APs or renewals.

CMs allowing it with a photo of the member's ID and DVC card are a courtesy and an exception.

That's where I'm confused. I have not been present for an activation for at least 5 years. I guess it's just going to be a buy at your own risk situation.
