Questions about the end of the process

I'M FINALLY IN!!! Just spoke to Tammy and she said I was entered in yesterday :) :)

She transferred me to MS, and I asked for my activation code, but the system is down until 11, so I will call back then.

Doing the happy dance that I am finally a DVC member!

Woo Hoo :cool1: As of this morning we were loaded with points, account set up and even made our reservations, which includes a few days at F&W!!! It was the only 11 days available from now until the end of the year. We really wanted to do F&W but didn't hold out any hope BUT Voila'! We feel super lucky.

Thank you everyone for all the help and support through our DVC journey. I will post a timeline later.

Now to figure out how to book airline flights...

ETA: OHHH and CONGRATULATIONS cfw213!

I got my package from Disney in the mail today
Edit: the package only contained two books with info. No member number was in there. Will this be sent separately? I really don't want to have to call if I can avoid it.

For my last contract I received that same packet about five days before my letter. So you should be close!

Thanks, Dan. Ok, so now I got the letter (must've come friday or saturday) with the member ID number. I went online and tried to register but I need a one-time activation code. Apparently that is yet another letter. I'm expecting a MI-5 agent any day now with the code. :rotfl:

Just call MS for the code, don't wait for Disney mail, it may never come unless it's a mailing trying to get you to buy more points. :goodvibes

:earsboy: Bill

I don't believe Disney will actually mail you a code. PP is right, you should call MS to set up your online account.

I wouldn't wait for that letter, as I don't think I have ever received one. Now is a perfectly acceptable time to call MS, provide them with your membership number and get your one time activation code. The whole process should take about three minutes and it is definitely something that they can help you with. Congrats, Allie, you're finally all set!

good advice, dan. I called today and was told that they email that activation code but they had no email for me, so I'd never get it. The operator gave me the code and also the club id, since that wasn't in my closing documents as it should have been. Problem now is that the website won't let me register. It's saying I have the wrong club ID. I called back and was told that is the correct one, but it still won't take. So she said she had to send a ticket to IT and they'd call me back in 3-5 days. Great.

Oh man, I'm so sorry. I'm telling the truth though...it was supposed to be a 20 second process! Good luck getting it sorted out. :)

Hey everyone,

I hope you all are enjoying your memberships now!

Allie - That sucks, but hopefully they can get it all straightened out

Btw, I thought I would add that on my second contract, the speed was CONSIDERABLY faster. It was passed to DVC and less than 5 days later, I was up and running, crazy!

Anywho, good luck to all those still in the waiting process. :thumbsup2

So today, finally, my patience came to an end. I called Disney and accepted no nonsense and insisted on speaking to someone who could resolve this today. Turns out, the first person I'd gotten days ago had given me the wrong activation code. The website noted it as a club id problem, though, so she couldn't figure it out. That's what I get for staying patiently on the phone with someone whose accent was so thick we could barely understand each other.

So I was finally able to create and activate my online account. Points are showing up and I ran a check of available rooms for march as a dry run to familiarize myself with the system. Seems easy enough.

So my timeline from submitting to ROFR until today when I'm really in there and could book: 5/21 to 8/2.

Congratulations Allie! I'm glad you're finally in.

FYI: I finally got my membership card today. Personally, I'm glad I called and had them set me up right away instead of waiting for my card to come snailmail (close to a month after it was recorded). I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have been able to get our reservations for F&W this year or all the booked up ADR's like Cinderella's Round Table inside the castle and the Queen Victoria Room (only 4 tables) for our anniversary. Just letting anyone who was wondering if it was worth it for me to call when my agent advised me to. Personally, heck yes.

Offer to receiving membership card 5/02/12-8/02/12 (just realized it's a round number. lol)
