Questions about the Dolphin

We have never stayed at the Dolphin.
How long of walk is it to Epcot compared to BC and BW which we have stayed at and love.
We can get the teacher discount which is a lot less than BC/BW.
I also want to know how the room with balcony compares to one without a balcony.
Does having a balcony there help with some of the mold issues I have read about.

We stayed at the Swan last year and will be at the Dolphin in May. The walk from the Swan was about 5 minutes to the Y/BC. About 8-10 to Epcot maybe longer if you are walking slowly. We LOVE that area and you really can't beat the teacher rate.
We had a balcony at the Swan and had no mold issues at all, but don't have any info on the difference between ones with and w/o.

Also, what are my options for a fridge? We really need to keep bottled water and milk to drink.

I have read that you can rent a fridge for $12 a day or have them clean out the minibar, which I have heard isn't very cold, and they may charge for that service(mixed reviews on that). We just brought a small soft side cooler and refilled it with ice each day which was free!

One other question, I think I read there some sort of construction. What will be under construction in June?

They are redoing the rooms, but I think they do one floor or wing at a time, so you should be fine. We were a floor above some construction at the Swan last year, but it was not a big deal to us(just a little hammering noise during the day, but we didn't mind since we were gone most of the time it was going on). Some people are more sensitive to that sort of thing, so if you are, I would just ask to be put somewhere away from the construction.
