Questions About The Beach Club

Hi Gang

We've stayed at the Swan and then Dolphin over the past few years and have not been at a Disney resort as a family (DW and I stayed at CR in 2000 on a business trip). We were really lucky to get the S/D club level for $179 in 2003 and then $169 last month so we couldn't beat the price. Our last stay at the Dolphin was nice but not as nice as the Swan. Anyway enough about the S/D...

My DW and I talked when we got home in June that it would be REALLY nice to stay at the Beach Club. At a true Disney resort. Stormalong Bay looks awesome and we both love the Boardwalk area. Can you guys comment on staying at the Beach Club? Also I'd like to know how I can get a decent rate at the Beach Club with a nice view. Do I get an AP, go at a certain time, sell my dog?

Sell the dog!!! Just kidding. If you want to stay at the Beach Club, you can try to travel at value times...that will make it cheaper. Disney has made it a little more difficult to get rooms with an AP...it almost doesn't make sense anymore to get an AP just in case a good rate comes out.
You might want to go over to the Disney Vacation Boards, and check in the Points to Rent section. A lot of people rent their DVC points. It's a lot cheaper than paying cash through Disney and you get a nicer place to stay. Otherwise, just keep checking these boards to see when new codes are released.

We stayed there last month. We own DVC at BWV but wanted to try out SAB. We enjoyed our stay but preferr BWV.....some do, some don't. Very personnal choice. As far as views go...you can get a pool view, a garden view, and sometimes even a view that includes the fireworks. But you can't request that view anymore. Check out either WDW's official site or Deb Wills site for photos and view info regarding each resort.
