Questions about the 1/2...

Please, please, please, make yourself soak it all in. When you're running, you can't wait to cross the finish line, and when it's over, you'll wish you could re-live it all.

So, so true!

Take the early bus. Really. I have heard horror stories both years about bus issues. These are contracted tour buses with drivers that don't necessarily know Disney property. My first year of Minnie the driver didn't even know how to get to AK and was asking us for directions.

Also, if you have issues (like forgetting to put your chip on your shoe and leaving it in your hotel room :rolleyes1 ), you may actually have time to go back if needed.

The wait actually goes by pretty fast. Make sure you get in the porta potty lines at least twice and do it early before the other 15,000 people get in line. I always bring a trash bag to sit on. It can double as an extra warm layer or rain poncho if needed.

And like Denny and some others have said, enjoy it. The green army men are usually there, there's music and sometimes photographers roaming around. We got a great pre-race WISH team photo before the last Minnie.

Unless they changed something last year, you do not go straight from bag check into the corrals...it is a runner-only area, but there is still another walk out to the road where the race actually is. Can someone clarify, please?

Maybe I shouldn't have used the term "corral", but for the 1/2M, as soon as you crossed through the bag check last year, you were in a runners only holding area, but the area was split into A, B, and C areas. There were volunteers walking around making sure C runners weren't hanging in the A corral. Runners were allowed to move down (i.e. A to B or C) but not up. The "A" portion was toward the front, and the first area to be led to the starting line. The C's were at the back of the lot, and the last to be led to the starting line.

Hmm...

So am I the only DISer who had to pee in the woods last year between potapotties and the race start?

At about 5:25 am after we go into our holding area before the race started, masses of people started walking to the edge of the woods outside of Epcot. DH warned me about this exactly 1 min. before it happened!!

I was mortified and there was no way this girl was going to pee in the woods (there were no portapotties at that point). Then, at about 5:45 am. I made my way to the woods.

The lesson I learned... be one of the first ones to go, not one of the last!

note to self - add toilet paper to fanny pak!! :thumbsup2

It has become one of my 'concerns' for the race!!! I'm a substitute teacher and never know when I'll be able to use the potty - the woods for a girl isnt as neat as for a boy!!
